Pretty torn choosing my pick for match 1, both are pretty good, just hoping this one isn't too big of a blowout in either direction

Take Back the Tower sounds like Gran Turismo music (I am now picturing X driving around in a snazzy sports car)

Solar Inferno is easily my favorite classic Mega Man series track

Wish that great Sigma Stage intro led into something a little more inspired. As for the second match, eh. Never really understood the love for Solar Man and Take Back the Tower really just isn't my thing either, especially as far as Mega Man music goes.

Both tracks of the first match are sick! I think I'll choose Sigma 1, it's so iconic, but Departure is just as good of a winner. Take Back the Tower is fine, I'm kind of not feeling it, I can respect some good J-fusion though. Solar Inferno isn't my fist pick from 10's music, but nonetheless it is a solid track and charateristic from it. I'll take it.

departure feels like it slightly overstays its welcome to me, by the end the backing elements had kind of gone from being a great complement to the rest of it to just feeling like they'd been a bit overplayed and lost some of their appeal
thinking about it, sigma stage is a song that tries for an oddly specific vibe (of a more contemplative but still sentai-esque action-focused song), and i dig it

the gran turismo comparison is funny. i definitely wouldn't say that i'd ever fall for this being a gt song since it is compositionally quite different but obviously it is the same style lol. always appreciate most 90s jazz/lounge songs, and especially ones like this
solar inferno has always been one of those mm songs that feels like it has lyrics to it to me, and unfortunately here that doesn't help it really

Departure is fine. The epitome of solid but nothing special for me. A minute after finishing it I barely remembering anything about it. Sigma 1 isn't one of X's best, but it's got a lot going on, and there's a cool arc that progresses through the song.

Alph Lalya? What does this have to do with Scheherazade? Anyway, it's a pretty good song. I have no idea what it's a remix of though! Pretty close between this and Solar Inferno, where I like the melody more but amn't as into the instruments.

end of departure where it just turns into guitar solo is kind of an eyeroll for me but like cmon its departure, so before that it fuckin rocks! sigma 1st does as well though!! so this is actually much closer than it may appear

tower is a cool song but then i realized it's supposed to be boomer kuwanger and then i got sad. solar man fucks

Both arrange songs were pretty nice, although Departure didn't feel like it went many places. Take Back the Tower was definitely the highlight of the day with the awesome acoustic guitar and saxophone.

I like the original Departure more. I suspect this will be a constant refrain with the arrangements in this contest. Sigma Stage 1 is a classic from one of my favorite soundtracks.

I've always enjoyed Take Back the Tower - it actually took me a while to realize what it was arranging. Nice interpretation of an already great song; I was excited to see it get in. (Maybe it won't be a "constant refrain" at all!) I like Solar Inferno significantly more, though I won't be sad at all if Take the Back the Tower wins.

Departure may be a little repetitive in the end but I enjoy it quite a lot all the same, whereas Sigma 1 does little for me. Solar Inferno is really neat, but Tower is one of my fav discoveries of the contest. It is 100% my kind of thing, this may be a controversial take but I enjoy it more than its original form.

Departure is definitely a rousing one. I always liked that little melody that leads into the rest of the piece. Kind of overstays it's welcome at the end, but I can't say I dislike it. The original is really good, after all.

Oh no I am one of those MMX SIMPS ...Sigma Stage 1 feels both fast and slow to me ... Very determination fueled, but still has a dash of that MMX fun factor and heroism. I like what UF8 said about it.

Immediately I'm like, "why didn't I like Take Back the Tower more in noms phase?" I absolutely enjoyed it, but didn't feel it strongly enough to support it. I really must have listened to it on a bad day because this is hitting waaaaay harder. What the fuck. This is why I try to give songs second chances. ALSO WHAT THE FUCK THIS IS BOOMER KUWANGER??????

I really really like the very intense part of Solar Man at the beginning of the song. It's a good, solid classic sounding Mega Man track, but usually it's the classic ones that rank among my least favourites....
