He was the only competent QB Chicago had since the 1980's. Fields wishes he was Cutler. I had a friendly offseason bet with one of my friends who was under the delusion that Fields would be MVP. Half his contract is guaranteed money. If he keeps performing this horribly, and that "if" is certainly a possibility, that's gonna be an expensive move the Giants have to make. Honestly, he was never that good, and him conning the Giants out of that money will go down in infamy. If he retires after 2026, it'll be obvious he swindled them to give himself a huge nest egg. You traded the first overall pick for DJ Moore (and other picks), you throw to him twice in the second quarter for 25 yards in total, and then never again. Claypool only targetted twice (and dropped one lol). Like, Fields wasn't incredible, and that pick 6 was absolutely his fault, but lets gameplan a little bit better lol. Hopefully this is one of those week 1 overreactions, but man, both sides of the line didn't look good either. They only rushed 4 basically all game, so Love barely had to improvise and could just take as much time as he felt like. He's played through injuries before. He could want to do it again. Thing is, he's an old man now, and even if he's only motivated by rewarding the Packers, he's probably gonna get hurt worse because the Jets lack the trustworthy O-line. He's definitely missing Bakhtiari. That said, the Jets got a huge play and some points on the board, so not ALL is bad for them. --- Help control the pet population. He's a perfectionist that doesn't want to throw the ball unless he's confident it can be caught. That's why his INT percentage is so low. It does make him an agonizing watch sometimes. It's like. Just make the throw! In this case, I can't blame him too much. If I recall, he had some foot/ankle problems in recent years. I wonder if he aggravated that. Also, I'm seeing a lot of Aaron Rodgers-9/11 jokes on reddit due to this injury....I hate to admit that some of them gave me a chuckle. --- Don't mind me.
