Yeah, but it's like... 20 for one of those light cones, or maybe you get to choose an E level for a 4*, which now seems kind of ill-advised.

Speaking of that, I don't think I realized that Echo of War can actually drop light cones directly. I wasn't using all of my attempts per week on them.

I've already managed to get 1 of every standard banner LC so all my Starlight goes towards Gold tickets. No way would I ever buy a 4* at that cost even if I needed it.

They're the same ones you can get from the mirror shop iirc, so I don't even think it's worth it to burn energy on them if you don't need to

The drop rate certainly isn't too high, but those mirror ones are pretty expensive each if you want to superimpose them.

If you knew the amount of fuel I had hoarded, 90 energy a week wouldn't seem too bad.

I don't! They're mostly not very good. I got my S5 breakfast and don't really have a need for any of the rest.

So as a new player, Im considering making my first banner either Topaz or the Seele rerun. Does one of the two have a ton more utility than the other? I know Seele is pretty good DPS. Not sure what role Topaz fills.

Both are Hunt characters, focused on high single target DPS. I don't expect Topaz and Seele to have any extreme difference in quality, so I would go with whichever one appeals to you more. Topaz is going to do less damage more times, Seele is going to do bigger damage less times.

Well they're both the same class which focuses on single-target DPS. Seele's element is somewhat better though I wouldn't really say that's a big deal without some of the earlier relevant characters like Silver Wolf.

Alright, sounds like it doesnt matter too much then.

Best advice is just pull for whoever you want. Much like Genshin Ive been doing mostly fine using whoever even if theyve got nearly no synergy as a team

there's plenty of fun in trying to figure out "meta" team comps, just among the characters that you have and like

you'll still destroy everything eventually

Fortunately it's a PvE game, so you don't have to worry about fighting whales.

Now, if they ever actually introduce a PvP card game

Every single Trailblaze point spent farming for Topaz Relics has been wasted. She'll sit on this 2 piece Fire/Attack for 2 and a half weeks.

It's funnily translated (the others are the same way), but apparently everytime you do a followup attack, you get a permenant 8% damage buff, stacking up to 8 times.

Combined with the 2 piece effect, that's an 80% damage buff after 8 followup attacks.

Every attack Topaz does including her basics are followup attacks.

okay so it's not every hit of a follow-up attack, so it probably takes too long to stack on jing yuan for it to be worth it?

I would not make any definitive assumptions with these translations. That very specific situation could make a world of difference in who this is good on.

Hopefully the hit interpretation is correct, otherwise this much needed buff for Jing Yuan and Himeko isn't going to work out.

Customer service told me to just make a second PSN account so Im gonna assume theres no way at all to just have my singular account and have HSR and Genshin data merged onto it. I guess I could manage swapping between PSN accounts to play them

that is stupid, but yeah swapping accounts isn't that bad??

Technically that's exactly the situation I'm in, I just don't know if I'll get back to Genshin so it's not bothering me much. I've got Star Rail on my primary which is what matters.

Well its my fault for 3 years ago not knowing Id ever need a Hoyoverse account when I started Genshin and starting Star Rail before a console version existed I guess. At least theres something I can do instead of having no options at all

If you linked the Hoyoverse account you use for Star Rail with your PSN account, what happens when you start Genshin?

I had my PSN account linked to a Hoyoverse account with Genshin from years ago when I tried it out. Before I installed Star Rail to my PS5, I completely disconnected that Hoyoverse account from my PSN, and instead linked my Star Rail Hoyoverse account from within the new Star Rail install.

Currently, my Genshin account is linked to nothing, and I would have to make a new PSN account to play on my PS5 (or do anything in the shop period, since that was where I created the account).

So I finally started this game on ps5 since I didnt wana play on mobile. Very first 10 pull got Jingliu and Tingyun lol. Now I feel like I'm having a completely distorted experience of the early game. But it's so good.

And did all the pulls on the beginner banner and got Bailu. I don't know if I like her better than Natasha. For now I'm going with Jingliu, Tingyun, Natasha, and the mahjong girl.

Literally the best first pull I could imagine lol.

Bailu is definitely better than Natasha in general, with the exception that Natasha can cleanse while Bailu can't. It's not an enormous difference, though. If you're lucky you'll get a Lynx at some point, otherwise I might say it's beneficial to pull on the HuoHuo banner once it comes around in a month.

Felt pretty underwhelmed by the story quest and Topaz's appearance in it...probably getting burned out on the game. Might end up taking a break until Penacony actually releases.

just checked and i have 7 accepted-but-incomplete companion missions (and am not really sure how many undiscovered ones, i just stumbled upon what i assume is DHIL's the other day)

So I just reached the quest to increase Equilibrium level for the first time, like halfway through the snow planet. How much time do I have to get free Pela? cus apparently she's great with Jingliu.

You have to be completely up to date on the main missions to do the Aetherium Wars content, but you've got like a month left. Shouldn't be a problem.

Ended up going for Jingliu since Ill be able to afford Topaz too. I got Bailud like 54~ pulls since my last 5* and then Jingliu showed up at like 75 after that. Along the way I got these:

Lynx (E1 now and a nice surprise)
Nat (E3 now also welcome)
Tingyun (E3 now nice)
Qingque (E4 now time to stomp bugs?!)
Sampo (E5 now not sure Ill ever use him)

LCs: Geniuses Repose, The Moles Welcome You & Subscribe For More. From Standard I got Moment of Victory which looks like an upgrade for my March.

This is fair. I think I still have 2 or 3 unfinished also.

Yeah you guys play this game very different from how I do lol.

Content is completed as soon as it gets unlocked. All sidequests. All map chests. All regularly accessible achievements.

I'm like that when I'm caught up but I took a 2-3 month break and had a huge backlog of things that hasn't been finished yet.

Edit: Well not with achievements actually which I mostly just ignore and treat as a bonus when I get them, but with the other stuff at least.

Yeah I have a ton of companion quests to do and also I completely forgot to do SU last week which is probably a sign I'm losing interest

I somehow got a ornament where every substat boost was crit damage for my Jingliu and I've still got the +15 boost to go (it's currently at over 28%).

No fucking way, just got Welt's light cone from a random standard 10 pull. The game doesn't want me to quit.

I guess I can use my starlight to buy Gepard's LC instead? And then I'll have no more need for standard cones. Or just dump them all on wishes if I get close to pity

Go for it.

Getting a copy of every standard cone is so freeing because I feel absolutely no guilt dumping all my Starlight into tickets anymore.
