Board 8 > B8 NFL Pickem League: Week 1

It's that time again folks! For the uninitiated, this is a simple pickem league with a regular season and playoffs. Just pick the games each week, and if you do the best you win! Some rules:
1) Please pick the games in the order that I list them in the topic, as that makes it a lot easier for me when plugging picks in to my spreadsheet.
2) You may change the picks of any game that has not started at the time of the change but PLEASE DO NOT EDIT POSTS. If you have to double post, that is fine.
3) If you forget to make picks in this topic but made them somewhere else, PM me and I can review it to possibly give you credit. If it's in spread form, I can only grant wins that were on the over (If you pick the underdog at -6.5 for example, I can't count that as a win because you didn't pick them to win, you picked them to either win, or lose by less than 7 pts.)
4) I am no longer allowing anyone with an acct on my block list to participate. Tough, ulti. Go make your own if you care so much. I don't want to unblock people or have to log out of my own acct just to see posts. Them's the breaks.
5) If you decide to give up later in the season due to poor performance, please just let me know, either topic or PM, so it doesn't clog up the standings.

Before we get into it, allow me to once again congratulate both KommunistKoala, for having the most reg season wins and making it to the finals, and Shattered for winning the finals and having a solid season himself!

Also, in addition to the above rules, something I forget to say off the bat every year, when I list "4 PM, 8 PM etc" those are not the times they are due, just the timeslots. I know the 4 PM games start at 4:05, 4:25, whatever, i just don't want to list every different time in those blocks. So you just sort of understand that those games are due by their actual start times, not by the time listed here.

This is harassment and exclusionary in a venue that in no way calls for it. If you want to dislike me personally that's fine, but this is not the topic for it. More importantly, this league is not yours. It belongs to the entire board and everyone is welcome. Raven 2 and I started this and that's been the very inclusive message from day one.

I (and I imagine others once they see this) am asking you civilly to please be an adult and not do this sort of thing for one project per year, and in no way am I alone in feeling this is very unfair behavior. You do a fantastic job running things, and I really don't want to resort to making you feel the way I do right now. This is absolutely not ok, dude.

It's a hassle for me to unblock someone I don't like, and risk seeing their posts elsewhere when I don't want to. You are welcome to your opinion, but rather than be mad at me, be mad at the person whose behavior got them banned. I appreciate that you started this league, but you don't run it anymore and as such don't need to throw the "I'm the reason we're here" in my face to justify your opinion. I shouldn't have to lower my experience on the board for someone else as a contest host. I already make a sacrifice by running the thing in the first place, which I'm sure you are aware of as a former host.

That isn't even needed and blocking prevents picks from being submitted. You can ignore someone without blocking them; there are two separate lists. You can just record picks without ever having to read things elsewhere, and I'm barely anywhere else anyway so I'm not some hard guy to avoid. It's what... sports, mafia, contest stats, and SMFFFC threads and that's it? It isn't some difficult ask unless someone wants to be unpleasant for no reason, which is clearly what's going on here. Almost everyone that's unblocked and participated in the SMFFFC stuff with me would agree with this.

I could just take this over again myself, but I really don't want to resort to that type of high school drama cliq nonsense when people could choose to be mature adults instead. Given most people on here are pushing 40, "mature adult" should not be some difficult thing.

Ulti's one of very few people to take part in this since day 1 and this is an unfair reason to ban him or anyone else you don't like from this league. I didn't like some who signed up for my leagues or contests, but I let them in regardless.

If people don't want to socialize with me, I understand that even if it's disheartening sometimes. I made some big pretty dumb mistakes a long (very long) time ago.

Banning an original from the picks league he created with a friend, that was inclusive from day one, without good reason borders on harassment and puts this at risk of breaking site ToU. That kind of stuff does not belong here and it's drama I'm actively trying to avoid. For an example of the difference, Lefty banning Moonroof from SMFFFC happened because of documented rule breaking in the actual contest itself. There are plenty of people I'm sure he doesn't like personally that still participate because it would create a huge rules lawyering problem otherwise.

You run it then. I'm not accepting any picks from him regardless where they come from. If you don't like it, legit run this league yourself again since you seem so intent on going back to how things were when you ran them. Serious offer, if you want it you can have it.
