Note that when I say they gave them a tap on the wrist, I mean the southern aristocracy as a social structure, not the southern proletariat. Nazis deserve no quarter. None. They have discarded their humanity; their entire identity is about the systematic genocide of entire classes of people. There is no reasoning with them, no peaceful solution. They need to stopped from the word "go," by any means necessary.

I'm one of the more peaceful, pacifist people you could hope to meet in life. This is my ONE, and only exception. Nazism must be dismantled, whatever it takes, before it has a chance to fester.

I said that in the post you quoted, though I did say might if that's what you're trying to correct me on. Let's not get into an "all cops are Nazis" debate. The topic-derailment is bad enough as it is.

All I'm saying is that, if summoned by Disney, the police would make these assholes leave. A police officer may be bigoted, but they answer at the beck and call of those who have the most money. Disney undoubtedly makes contributions to the local police and so the police have to answer their call regardless of their personal feelings on the matter.

I could very easily see it being a, "Come on, buddy. Let's go," moment from officer to Nazi. But they would make them leave.

The morons are expendable. When they go out and perpetrate the violence "on their own", it's that much harder to hold the spreaders of the conspiracy theories (legally) responsible.

Nah, I think if they were warned for this topic it's definitely earned. Calling people trolls and doubling down when people are all saying that it's not okay and saying "violence is bad" to the targets of Nazis while telling the targets they need to speak nice with the violence of Nazis isn't just a bad take, it's giving the Nazis more grounds and rights.

Oh, make no mistake, I agree. My moderation history is full of moderations I got for shit talking Nazis and being open about how to deal with them. I only questioned his warning because I've seen far worse than his "nazis deserve free speech" shtick go unmodded.

Yeah, I thought it was a weird moderation too even though I obviously disagree with him. I guess if the mods are going to err though, I'd rather them err on the side of being anti-nazi than pro-nazi.

I favor a different angle on his take. It's best for public opinion to view Nazis as the aggressors, the group out for blood. Self defense and counter-protests are good. Going around trying to goad them, not so good.

I get what you're trying to say, but there isn't any such thing as goading them.

They're already being goaded along by their own hatred. Just because they aren't actively trading punches or firing shots (which some of them are!), that doesn't mean that they aren't still unified by the goal of wiping certain peoples from this planet.

The rules of how to deal with other people don't apply for dealing with individuals who want to kill other people for being born in one group instead of another.

It used to be frowned on to say "I am planning to murder people" in America. Somehow that changed and became "free speech".

Nazis exist to wipe out certain races. Their very existence is based on genocide. Why are they getting free passes

People can barely wrap their heads around the fact that private businesses can wholly restrict your speech while on their premises

So it isn't surprising that they don't get that threats of violence are not protected either.

He wasn't really defending Nazis, more just a warning of any sort of blanket law to prohibit their speech could probably be just as easily used for groups republicans don't like, so it's a very tricky situation. Or at least that's how I was reading his posts.

It's not about idly letting the nazi throw the first punch.

The idea is to escalate force wisely. Never give a nazi an excuse to pretend THEY acted in self defense.

I dont think any reasonable person would be on a nazis side if they get punched. Theyd be like huh, good and move on. The only people sympathetic would be those who have the same beliefs.

People cant read. He said Nazis can go fuck themselves and should have no platform, but it shouldnt be vigilantes doing it. It should be the state doing it, e.g. Canada and Germanys approach. People extrapolated that to defending Nazis.

Of course I only followed the topic part of the way, so its possible in the last 150 posts or so things changed. But from what I read, people seriously lack reading comprehension.
