creativerealms 09/01/23 11:07:04 AM #52:	The casting is so perfect even for people with small roles that it brings up my biggest problem. Some characters are wasted as they are reduced to bit parts. Especially since they get the costume and make up treatment to look as much like the characters as possible. The biggest offender is Don Krieg. It doesn't ruin the show and it only bothers me because I read the manga and watched the anime. Prestoff 09/01/23 11:22:34 AM #53:	Just watched the first episode, man they really sped through the Alvida part, but the rest of the episode tied out fairly well. I think they messed up on two parts and both involve Coby like in the manga his big moment was to stand up to Alvida and the other part where Luffy acted like a bad guy so Coby can join the Navy. Of course, this is only the first episode so I'll see if they do anything else with the guy, but the Buggy introduction was honestly pretty sick. Props to the costume designer for all the characters as well, they somehow made their outfits true to the source material without feeling like a cosplay, except for Nami's hair. Though I'm really sad that they cut ~~Luffy tricking Arlong into eating his own crewmate and Arlong beating Zoro and shitting bricks after seeing his horrible wounds realizing how he did so much damage to his crew while half dead~~ though. Having the creator of One Piece on board as an executive producer probably made a big difference. They only consulted with Cowboy Bebop's creator instead of giving him an actual creative role in it's production, which might explain why they flubbed it as hard as they did. You can tell everyone making the show just loves the manga/anime, I feel like they have done a really good job pacing out the arcs too. Doesnt feel slow at all when Luffy has a new villain to fight every 2 episodes. Even my wife who has never watched any anime anything is really liking it. I think we might have a big hit on our hands. i really hope so. They can definitely cover Alabasta in the same amount of time since it's only about 20 more chapters than east blue, the problem is they now have to add Logue town and Reverse mountain in season 2.
