psycho pass ED is nice song-wise, but I still prefer ambiguous in the song department and it definitely wins in animation as well.
either one winning the second match makes me happy, and either one losing makes me sad so here we go

I didn't like that Kill la Kill OP at all. 50% of it was just playing dress-up with the characters. The songs in the second match were both good, but Realize easily wins on animation and presentation.

Really good set of songs, I like all four. And the visuals are all good in their own way. Honestly I'm only voting in the first match because the OP puts all the questionable costuming from Kill la Kill front and center, but the visuals are pretty good still. I like Monogatari's uniquely odd sort of style in Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari, and it's a great song, but Realize does a really good job depicting all of Subaru's deaths, and it's easily my favorite Re:Zero OP as a result.

Namae no nai Kaibutsu is a totally pleasant ED, but I have relatively middling feelings on the song which prevents it from leaving too much of an impression. For the Kill la Kill OP, I can't say I have positive feelings about some of the Studio Trigger weirdness, but I still think there's a bit more to like here regardless.

Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari definitely one of my favorites. Cute, stylized animation with a very catchy and heartfelt song. The tie-in to the ED Bakemonogatari does in episode 12 is also one of the greatest anime sequences ever (in part due to the ED itself, to be clear) and really elevates this in my head, but even if for contest purposes you want me to cover my eyes and pretend that didn't happen it's still an easy vote here. Realize a totally reasonable and good OP but it's way out of its league in this match.

holy SHIT namae no nai kaibutsu is a banger, i totally thought i'd be going ambiguous here but yeah i was pretty blown away. great match!!

second match is so fucked up LOL like this is a grand finals match. don't make me pick please god why i can't believe i'm voting against Massive New Krew what the fuck is happening (even if Realize is pretty far removed from what "Massive New Krew sound" actually is lmfao) i will play the 17 once in sdvx, just as repentance (its hard tho i cant do mid-tier 17s yet)

First match took me a little bit to mull over, but I really enjoy the starting notes of ambiguous and that's probably what helped me the most in choosing. Also showing all the different outfits is nice.

Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari is a cool ED, the style is neat, but I think I dig the emotion of Re:Zero's, and I haven't even watched Re:Zero yet (although it's on my list.)

Not a big fan of the KLK song. Artistically it's interesting, but I think it actually measures up poorly compared to the show itself. Meanwhile namae no nai kaibutsu is beautiful on both sides of the equation.

i think Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari was my introduction into Bakemonogatari. The song is 10/10, though admittedly the best part of the song isn't in the ED. The animation is simple, but I think it suits it really well. Realize is really good too. The OPs and EDs have consistently been on-point from Re:Zero, even as the plot has... not been. I know at least one of my complaints is entirely created by the anime; sometimes I wonder if they all are. If this is a case of the director of the adaptation not liking some of the core themes of the book. Specifically, it feels like the story wants Subaru to be someone who, through his efforts to be The Hero, keeps making things worse, but the show keeps trying to shuffle that fact off to the side and out of sight. It's not like I can't read the web novel one day and find out. Regardless, we're here to pick a side on OPs, not talk about the show, and... Man, the visuals of MC walking past all his dead selves, of going full suicide mission, is so striking. Gotta give it to that.
