The Bible is used to justify pretty much every right-wing atrocity in the U.S. because, even if they're treating both it and the religion with actual disdain and malice per the religion's messaging, they still hold it up as what they think should be the ultimate authority on every subject.

I've never seen a religious text held in higher esteem and "off-limits" status than the Bible. Except the Quran, which I think should actually be part of the Bible because it's the 3rd sequel in the Abrahamic Theocratic Universe, which they base off events, characters, and morals from Judaism and Christianity, however the general consensus seems to be considering it separate, so I guess I'll put the Bible 2nd.

And we saw a glimpse of this when people started trying to get it banned from schools as backlash against all the innocent books being banned/removed and they were all "wtf you can't do that! Persecuting my religion!"

Real talk, my family is slightly religious, and we attend a church on Saturday nights. My sister-in-law works for the church as a bit of an event planner/counselor/several things. That said, services are basically... A band plays, the pastor talks for a few minutes, moreso about life lessons one can take from certain Bible verses instead of just taking the entire thing as gospel, and ANYBODY is allowed to attend. Black, white, religious, not religious, straight, gay, trans, whatever. Nobody cares. It's ultimately just a place for people to come, vibe, and get along.

I wish all churches were like this.

For people who want some context on this guy:

He's a fucking piece of work.A born-again nondenominational Evangelical Hate Preacher and founder of the Global Vision Bible Church. He rose to prominence during the start of Covid, being hugely outspoken against literally any covid countermeasure. He refused to shut down his church during lockdowns, refused to do online services, refused to social distance, refused to mask, refused to allow any of his church members to do any of the above (he and his staff would outright throw people out if they showed up with a mask). Obviously he's anti-vax, demands his church members be anti-vax.

MASSIVE Trump supporter. Often gives Trump sermons in flagrant violation of the Johnson amendment (for which he is under investigation on multiple counts). He outright prophesized a Trump 2020 victory, which he claimed was divinely inspired, and believes it is genuine demonic intervention that made Biden win. Though he ALMOST turned on Trump when Trump told his cultists to get vaccinated in one of his 2021 rallies.

Most recently he's been on and on about "witches." He claims that he and his church are under constant attack from witches, casting dark magic on them, offering "false prophecies," and claims that they hide Tarot cards and Ouija boards under the wood chips at his church (they meet in a big tent with a wood chip floor). He has led his church in multiple huge book burnings, and when confronted with obvious Nazi comparisons claimed that it's totally different because God told him to do it. He also "outed" (in quotes because it was BS) several members of his church as witches to his congregation, forcing them to basically flee town in fear for their lives after the threats and harassment they started getting. Almost uniformly, these "witches" were people close to him that he would go to for "spiritual advice" or "divine revelation" who told him he was wrong on some minor point.

And most recently he's been having his son lead sermons, and by all accounts it looks like this is now a multigenerational Hate Preacher Dynasty, so we have that to look forward to.

Membership numbers seem hard to find, but from what I was able to dig up, it's looking to be about 70,000 nationwide.

Maybe they don't spritz it with perfume/cologne and put on a literal pedestal (though this is sometimes shown in movies/shows, usually in older times), however they still lose their shit whenever you say you should treat it like a regular book just as any other book and go on about how it would be an attack against their religion.
