I don't know that I've ever bought a record and I'm old enough that it was a viable option when I was younger. If I have it was a VERY long time ago.

I don't really buy records, even though I do have record players. Nearly every one I still own is from the 80s.

I don't think I've ever bought one. My sister has a decent collection though.

Ordered both a couple days ago. Mangione was mostly because of King of the Hill, lol.

I have quite the collection, but it's been...maybe years since I've bought a record. It was probably Freddie Gibbs and Madlib's Bandana, which I have two copies of. I just haven't had a working player in too long - I will once I have my next place. I've mostly bought CDs for the car and MP3s (because sometimes that's still the only way to get them).

Actually, the most recent purchase...might've been Era Vulgaris by Queens of the Stone Age??? It's 3x10" records. I bought No Trend - Too Many Humans around that time too.

Even when I used to listen to LPs, I never really bought them, because I was so content with my folks' collection, as amusing as it was that all the metal from the 70s and 80s belonged to my mom. The same woman who nowadays says hard rock and electric guitars always make her tense up. lol ok, Mom, we'll discuss your favorite Black Sabbath album another time.

It's funny though; I remember an episode of Arthur from when I was a kid where the teacher was surprised that none of the students knew what a record-player was

Agreed 100%. I don't really care for ambient stuff, but his rock music is fantastic. Kings Lead Hat is one of the best songs I've ever heard

I was super lucky and had one of his guitarists, Paul Rudolph, as a customer at a business I worked at. The second he said his name I knew who he was, and he was a little surprised. I was able to settle a discussion I had with a friend regarding who played the solo on Baby's On Fire - I said it was entirely Fripp, he thought it was entirely Rudolph. Turns out it's majority Fripp, but there are 5 guitarists, including Rudolph, and Eno pans between all of them for texture. Paul was very kind and told me some stories about being in the iron lung as a 5 year old...

But yes, I'm the same. Love the rock stuff, not drawn to the ambient. I'm sure I can enjoy it, but I need stimulation lol.
