oh and details, woke up with a bit of scratchy throat, thought nothing of it. Went to work, walked up the hill to work, felt a little more winded than usual but couldn't be sure if I had just had a busy week and was still recovering.

Feel a little sluggish, wasn't sure, so I kept a mask on and went about my day. It started getting cold outside, which is where I really suspected something, because my body didn't really ease into feeling cold. I just went from fine to feeling slightly chilled. Leaving work is where I really suspected it, because the chilled feeling started bouncing between hot and cold.

Got home took a test within 2 minutes a faint line appeared. Kicked out of the club.

I think it eventually happens to us all like the flu or a cold. I work up close with customers at my job everyday. I was always wearing a mask and cleaning my work desk and other areas all the time. But I still ended up getting it last September. It was a crappy 2 weeks but after that I stopped wearing my mask because it wasn't required at work anymore and I'm thankfully okay still since then.

Taking anything? tylenol to get fever down or whatever?

I had a similar kind of deal and it was right around this time last year, had scratchy throat in evening, thought nothing of it, woke up to full-blown fever and a quick positive test. Shit happens... hope you feel better and you avoid the worst of it.

Yeah took some tylenol and some sudafed.

Dont know how high my fever got but i started really bouncing from hot to cold as i was trying to sleep.

Hey, at least you didn't catch it when you were getting your booster like I did.

I caught it in front of a big block of work so if I don't test negative on Wednesday it is basically costing me $1500 in lost wages.

Almost everyone has gotten it just some were asyptomatic so never tested and spread it.

This is the the bit of misinformation that somehow everyone believes but there isn't really a shred of credible evidence to back up.

The other of which is "COVID vaccine doesn't prevent infection" which is also not true(It protects against infection at a % rate, which people fail to contemplate because misinformation has been fed in mass).

Oh, I wasn't implying that. I just thought it was a funny bit of irony that it happened there.

That sucks. Still no covid for me, though I got sick for the first time since the pandemic started back in March with the worst cold Ive ever had and would have assumed it was covid if I hadnt tested negative multiple times.

I was laid out by something earlier this year too. My voice still hasn't recovered from whatever it was. Not COVID, though. Still scot free on that front.

Not to say I never get sick, because obviously I just proved otherwise, but I seem to avoid the things that "everybody" gets, like chicken pox and mono.

Hey man, that's just testing first hand how well it worked.

The pandemic really separated those who've played Fire Emblem/XCOM, and those who haven't. A 5% chance of getting really sick (or whatever the number was) may as well be 100%.

COVID has certainly been an interesting ride.

Start with just a scratchy throat.

Then the weird fatigue with a bit of brain fog(I was just really spacey that day, not severe like I've heard people talk about but definitely some weird brain shit going on)

Transitioned to just feeling bleh and feverish(The weird hot/cold swings), had immense trouble sleeping and lots of night sweats. Helped but not alleviated with medication.

Woke up with the big congestion, day was a mix of congestion and minor feelings of hot/cold compared to before but still present without taking tylenol.

Last night slept well. Woke up with congestion, pretty normal for a cold/flu, but its really abated as the day has gone on. Had what I thought was a severe soar throat but maybe just dried out a bit, i can still feel it but not even a little bit close to what I woke up. Abandoned the tylenol for just a sudafed/mucinex combo today as I don't have any signs of fever or discomfort.

Feel pretty good right now but its really been a wild swing of symptoms.

Youre young and healthy, so you should be fine in some few days. Keep checking your temp and drinking tons of water tho.

I have like 15 empty bottles of water piled up.

Feel pretty good, just real light congestion is my last remaining symptom.

But I caved and took my dog outside to play. Just a little bit of exertion on my part was enough to let me know that covid is still fucking me up a bit. That weird fatigue that I first noticed is still there.

I'm like a week off from being able to walk miles without feeling much of everything. Took about 30 seconds of a very light jog/brisk walk following my dog to have my body feel like i broke into a sprint. So still got some underlying things that I cant feel going on.

yes. i tested myself every day. I see the point continues to fly over your head.

So speaking of testing, did you try today or are you going to try tomorrow? I remember you saying Wednesday was the big work/money deadline day.

Going to test tomorrow about noon.

I'm pretty much symptom free. Have a little bit of that lingering throat irritation that occassionally causes a minor cough that I'd say happens after a standard cold and for me tends to linger for a week or two. I'll be disappointed if I test positive.

I did re-test on wednesday and unfortunately tested positive which cost me a lot of money(Even more because the hurricane caused some circumstances that turned today into extra work and premium pay that I had to miss).

Tested twice the last couple days and negative both times. So I'm very much in the clear.

Having energy back to exercise was very encouraging. That was far and away the scariest thing. Being just completely drained after walking from the car to work and then just trying to break into a brisk walk while playing outside with my dog causing the same thing. It was not anything close to a normal sick feeling.

Yes, sore throat yesterday was the starter. Some chills over night, then aches and fatigue today, with headaches coming and going and a bit of congestion. Also my smell is a bit weird.

I probably got it from my partner who's a teacher, and he's doing much better (he just tested positive as well). Just a sore throat that's already mostly gone.

Yeah COVID definitely making the rounds again.

Today the congestion and pressure around by nose is doing its damndest.

My nose just constantly kept emptying itself into tissues. The congestion was very loose.

Also perhaps the worst thing about covid is that I've been over it for a couple weeks but it left enough irritation that I still have a lingering cough. I barely even had the cough with covid.

People probably very much think I'm running around with covid.

Bye bye sense of smell. Please only go on a short vacation. Taste is still there, but milder.

I hope the new vaccines come out soon.
