meaning, if you wanted authentic Mexican food you would have to go to Mexico to eat it. Conversely, if you wanted Taco Bell you could eat it in America because that's where it originated from and it is not particularly authentic.

Authentic Mexican restaurants in America are now not accessible to you, for example.

If I have $15mil and I get a craving for a burrito I'd just hop on a plane to Mexico. With that kind of money I'd have the time, and obviously the resources, to make it happen.

American Chinese originated in America. It's actually kind of difficult to find authentic Chinese food in America. You have to go to Chinatown or some other place that caters to Chinese immigrants.

For 15 million dollars, I would just eat fruits & veggies with the occasional cheeseburger every day. You'd have to offer MUCH less money for me to even consider this worth contemplating.

even then its still iffy. My friend is from China and she gets upset any time we go to eat at a chinese restaurant and its "authentic" but it has orange chicken on the menu lol

This is pretty much true. Nearly everything brought in from another culture is "fused" with things of the culture it's entering. Even "authentic" Chinese restaurants will only serve the more authentic stuff to customers who ask for it and rarely have it on the menu because that's not what sells.

Yeah I got into this conversation with an Indian guy once after I ate his most spicy plate with extra spice added and I was like "still not spicy enough" he said he'd import some peppers just for me.

No way.

Thats a lot of money but Im not going to be this strongly limited on food. Its one of lifes great pleasures.

What about fusion food? Do I get to exist in two places at the same time and create a paradox, or the country it was created in as a concept?

Unless it's super specific to a given location, sectioning off "Mexican" food from the US doesn't make sense since plenty of that stuff is also native to large parts of the south western states, you know, because at one point they were parts of Mexico, and before even that the actual native populations had similar eating habits.

American pizza is very different from Italian pizza.

Like, for 15 mill, even if I only invest 10 of it, that's still 400k per year with a 4% return rate. Which is what's considered a safe average return while keeping into account inflation too.

That will last me forever. For 400K in today's dollars, per year for the rest of my life, I'll fly to Italy if I want a pizza.

America and possibly Canada make this question quite easy to answer. Homogeneous countries that typically eat just one type of food? Not so much.

I'm assuming that if authentic restaurants in America are off-limits like it says in the OP, then going to another country and trying to bring back authentic food is also against the rules.

Would need @Scintillant to clarify on that tho.
