A few years back, my girlfriend's boss mentioned that she was losing her mind because each of her two pre-school-age children were playing Baby Shark on repeat on separate ipads at the same time for hours on end. I can't say I understand the mentality of actually allowing your kids to do something that insufferable (at the very least, just take away one of the ipads and make them share until one of them wants to do something different), but who am I to criticize somebody else's parenting (aside from somebody who apparently has an objectively superior opinion)?

Not at all. Let it Go is actually a decent song, just overplayed (this also describes Frozen as a whole). Baby Shark is impossible not to overplay because the song just consists of the same two lines repeated dozens of times with one different word.

To be fair, ipads/smart phones are just this gen's Electronic Parents, where it used to be "the Nintendos" before, and the TV(MTV) before that. I.e., parents have been outsourcing parenting to some form of electronics essentially since the onset of TVs.

That said, the 24/7 on demand/in your face of ipad access to toddlers undoubtedly has (likely negative) effects on the growth of children. Stay tuned in another 20 years where hologram stand-in of parents are at home while the real ones are toiling in the Meta and Apple mines.

Indeed. At least "Let It Go" was written by people with Broadway musical chops, and performed by a Broadway star. Baby Shark is just children singing the same lyric over and over to essentially elevator music. And as Kidz Bop showed us, children singing is almost always cancer to the ears. This is basically a PlaySkool vs. Mozart comparison.

The Bush Administration would have played Baby Shark on loop at GitMo had it been around then.
