Are there any that just put on a mask and save the day because it is the right thing to do to. She's just a big fuckin' nerd about superheroes and then got superpowers. Barry Allen originally didn't have any tragic backstory, but they retconned him a dead parent to solve that.But in fairness, Barry Allen is the kinda hero you can retcon like that. Wandering__Hero 07/15/23 3:40:20 AM #24:	I'll second the Tick. Literally doesn't have a back story. Earthwrom Jim. Honestly the cartoon reminded a lot of the the Tick cartoon. Word Girl, Pj masks. You didn't exempt toddler shows. Danny Phantom. I mean there's angst that his parents are ghost hunters who unwittingly try to hunt their son, but their genereally good parents and good people who've done a decent job raising him. Danny isn't a paragon but usally tries to do the right thing. Invincible. Despite how dark the show is, Mark has a good home life and mostly just wants to do the write thing. The "horrible backstory" happens well after he puts on the mask. Miles is a lot less angsty than other spidermen. While his life isn't perfect, hes mostly an ordinary smarter than average kid with good parents who guide him to be the best person he can be. I get the impression the 3rd Spiderverse is really going to take apart the idea of trauma always making you a bette person. --- Rip Politics board.
