But I've seen "honesty experiments" conducted in the Las Vegas Strip where the vast majority of people would not return the money. But even then I'd be mildly paranoid about it being counterfeit, so I'd probably take it to a bank to verify it rather than just trying to spend it. Being on foot/bike/bus transportation I've come across a lot of lost items, and a lot of times I'll go well out of my way to return them.
