Would you keep the money for yourself or return it?

I think many of you would say you would return it, and I'd like to say I would to. But I've seen "honesty experiments" conducted in the Las Vegas Strip where the vast majority of people would not return the money. So to be honest I don't know exactly what I'd do in this situation if I personally encountered it.

Would I even notice? Probably not. If I did I would probably say something before realizing it was even money let alone a c note.

I'm 99% dure I'd return. I'm honest enough to know if I'm a really shitty mood (mad at the world mood) I might keep it.

I had a drug dealer return mine. Actually glad he found it and not his friends. Despite being the dealer he was probably the most genuine person I'm his crowd.

Return it. I've actually had this happen before, I saw somebody drop their wallet, I picked it up and tried to hand it to them, and they just kept walking and ignoring me, while I was saying "wait, you dropped your wallet." Until I just shoved it into their hand. Then they got all angry at me like "what's your problem?!" and I was like "TAKE. YOUR. WALLET. BACK." Then they understood.

Return it. It's one thing to find money on a sidewalk or something, and another to see someone drop money.

If I was literally behind someone and watched it fall out of their pocket/purse/etc, so I was 100% sure it was theirs, I'd absolutely pick it up and hand it back to them. I'm not so poor that $100 is a life-changing gain for me.

I'd probably only keep it if no one else was around or it wasn't obvious who originally dropped it, because then it feels more like a finders-keepers sort of situation. But even then I'd be mildly paranoid about it being counterfeit, so I'd probably take it to a bank to verify it rather than just trying to spend it.

Your problem might be people doing honesty experiments in Las Vegas.

That's when you should have just walked away and kept it or throw it.

This. Being on foot/bike/bus transportation I've come across a lot of lost items, and a lot of times I'll go well out of my way to return them. Every once in a while though I'll be in a really shitty mood (usually caused by other people being shitty), and I get into a "fuck you I got mine" mentality.

Yes.

For one, it's the right thing to do. For two, $100 isn't going to make much of a difference in my life, so why take it from someone who might need it to pay their bills?

Return it. I've returned entire dropped wallets before. Another time I saw a girl drop an annual bus pass when I was in university (those are worth over $300) and I still returned it.

Know a guy who recently left his wallet on the roof of his car and drove off. His Waller allegedly landed right in the opening of some random woman's driveway. Using his staff I'd in his Wallet she contacted him at work and brought it back. He said he gave her like all the cash that was in it cause nothing had been taken and his debit card hadn't been used

Yes I would return it. One time while working at Lowes I was outside pushing in carts. One of the carts had a zipper envelope from bank of America with thousands of dollars in it. I turned it in to HR in case they came looking for it. If I lost that much money I would want someone to turn it in, so I did what I could. I don't know if someone else stole it or what but i did the right thing.
