And never look back.
There's nothing redeeming from them anymore, and definitely nothing redeeming from the type of game that I find enjoyable.

You can always take a break. I've gone months without playing anything because I wasn't feeling it

  1. Hobbies don't need to have anything "redeeming." The sole purpose is to entertain you, so if you find it enjoyable, that's good enough. Don't get hung up on whether or not it meets some other arbitrary standard of "good enough" that goes beyond that (aside from the obvious "don't hurt people," but that should go without saying)
  2. You really need to try some other hobbies

Sometimes I think about quitting them, or at least asking myself if I really need to play as many as I do. But if I do quit them I would want to be sure I'll actually replace that time with other hobbies and not more sitting around browsing the internet or whatever bullshit.

Do you have some other interest that you feel gaming is holding you back from, or is this just you being depressed again? Because don't quit video games as a substitute of pursuing solutions for your depression, or else you'll probably just do even more sitting around doing nothing

Also, start supplementing vitamin D. I get the impression you don't exactly spend a meaningful amount of time outside, and the resulting vitamin D deficiency can contribute a lot to depressive symptoms. Your depression probably runs deeper than that, but getting some D will likely make things at least a little better.

If you need a "redeeming" hobby, try arts and crafts. There's a fairly low barrier of entry and with time and dedication you can make things you would actually like to display somewhere. Depending on what you make it can get a little pricey. Still cheaper than throwing your cash away on gacha.
