10-minute breaks every four hours

That's it?
10 minutes every four hours?
And that's somehow an issue and needed to be abolished?

At least 279 people died due to heat in Texas in 2022. Of those, 142, or 51%, were residents of another state or country

that is pretty surprising. More than half werent residents of Texas

Seems logical to me.

The people most likely to be in danger of hear exhaustion are those unfamiliar with Texas in the summertime.

Nah, these are the people who never had to work a day in their lives.

Hell, they probably think water breaks are woke or some shit.

I was going to say, even that isn't enough. In heat like that it should be at bare minimum 10mins every hour.

Water breaks are better solved by OSHA controls, argued Geoffrey Tahuahua, president of Associated Builders and Contractors of Texas. Tahuahua believes local rules impose a rigid scheme that, unlike OSHA guidelines, does not allow the flexibility needed to tailor breaks to individual job site conditions.
They try to make one size fits all, and that is not how it should work, he said. These ordinances just add confusion and encourage people to do the minimum instead of doing the right thing.

Lmao.

Fucking seriously.

Abbott, soulless? That's not fair. I mean, sure, he joked about rape victims being forced to give birth to their attacker's baby. And he's fostered an environment that's led to five of the nation's last 11 mass shootings. And he's used human beings as props in multiple political stunts. But soulless? Yeah, okay, he is soulless.

Well the Republican state governor is ordering the Democratic city mayors to do something wildly unsafe so its a fairly safe assumption they wont have to.

At work we got something like $3m for training and equipment to prepare for this summer and Ive heard a few of the calls where you get chewed out when someone gets overheated.
