Of course not. Happiness is a relative experience. Not to mention that a lot of days we think of as happy are also exhausting enough one time, like vacations or weddings

Sometimes, days are only happy for specific reasons And those reasons might be locked behind other days So, it might not even be the happiest day anymore if I cant remember other days Also, like the other poster said, those days can be exhausting Sure, we had a lot of fun But doing that over and over would be exhausting

Not sure...

I do have a goal of immortality, but re-living the same day over and over wouldn't accomplish that - I'd be "time-dead"

I'm not even sure I could tell you what the best day of my life was. None of my highs are really so absolutely deliriously high that they stand out as singular moments, just like most of my lows are never really terrible lows. My life is more of a steady stream of pretty cool days with occasional mildly bad ones.

So taking this deal would mean giving up a ton of really cool days and experiences just to relive a single day that wasn't that much better than the rest. It doesn't really seem like a great deal.

Maybe if the majority of the rest of my life was just a traumatic mess I was happy to be rid of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind style it would be worth taking just to get rid of the bad, but that's not really the case either.

No it wouldn't. Because you wouldn't remember doing it.

Every day you'd wake up exactly the same as every other day, with no idea of what was going to happen. Then you'd go to bed thinking "Man, today was a fantastic day". And then you'd wake up the next day and do it all again.

If I don't remember reliving it, any other days of my life, or whatever motivations I might currently feel that have prompted me to consider the idea, I'm never actually going to feel any sense of satisfaction from it or be aware of my perpetual joy. That kind of kills any potential it might have to be something I want, since as far as my present consciousness goes, it's basically a matter of dying happy right now.

Literally immortal and guaranteed happy and no memories to generate any regret, seems like a no-brainer. If you don't want this, either you've never had a good day, or you just like being unhappy and dying.

I'd rather relive a specific year of my life over and over, but more in a floating timeline sense where science and technology advance like normal, but nobody ever ages. Basically, The Simpsons in real life.

Not everyone wants to be immortal And you just love the same day over and over Seems worst than death, tbh Just that one day over and over

This basically is dying. That day becomes the last day of your life and you lose all ability to perceive time beyond it.

Since I wouldn't remember the days that culminated in the day that I deem to be the best, I would have no way of knowing whether or not it would be my best. To me, it would just be a regular day with no special significance. Moreover, if I were to forget every other day I ever lived, then I would essentially be a figurative vegetable in that day. And if I did retain my memories of how to walk and talk and so forth, the last condition would basically guarantee that I am stuck in an infinite time-loop with no way out, if we exclude the possibility of my developing deja vu during those time cycles. All in all, were I to take this deal, I would essentially be trapped in an inescapable hell without even knowing it, and because I don't know it.

The not-remembering-other-days is sort of a dealbreaker to me. Many of the happiest days that I remember are the result of events that had happened in the previous day(s).

No. Just no. The "best" day of my life saw a few things I was excited for coming... except one got delayed until some inconvenient later date, and none of my friends or family cared that I was excited about the other thing. In fact, one of them put me down for it, souring what joy I could and should have gotten. Then they all turned around and got excited for me at later dates for things I didn't care about, and even told them I wouldn't care about.

What I think is my best day really isnt. A day I felt a purpose and needed. I knew alot of people in my time but I was more just someone they knew. That one person asking for my help was the most important day in my life. I think all the roads lead I traveled led to that one event. Saying yes was hard. There isnt a good ending, but if I could live that day over and over I would

There's very little point if you don't remember that it's happening, and if you did it would suck. I'd say the "best" option would be to relive the best decade of your life and remember so you can do things differently every time.

This would be awesome. You could have completely different lives between each And if you know whats going to happen, you could also go through a few of those lives a little bit richer Could be fun

So, if the happiest day of your life was your wedding day, but you don't remember any of the days before it -- wouldn't you suddenly ask yourself at the altar, "Who the hell is this woman I'm standing next to??!!!"

Nope. As the best day of my life would then become my worse as I'd get sick of living it.

I didn't read this. The answer is still no though. As others day of my life might not have been the happiest but were still fun and worth living. Plus my experiences make me who I am. Good or bad. Not being able to remember when others are describing events I lived through with them would suck.

Good point. I'm looking over my post and I'm wondering why I said you wouldn't remember any other days you lived. Hmmm. I broke my poll. I'm not really sure what I was thinking.

It wouldn't take long before I started getting pretty bored of it. I'm not sure what I would even consider my best day ever. Maybe a lazy summer day packed with video games, exploring the woods, eating popsicles on a hot curb. Do y'all have a "best day?"
