I use Red-Eyes FTK without the draw power except Popperup (I could use Sacred Sword of 7 Stars but eh). If I didn't see any way to win I just scoop.

edit: alright, one Red-Eyes FTK later and I got all the gems.

Man, Red-Eyes FTK is fun. I'll make a ranked deck with it for sure with Byssted dragons.

edit2: I rewarded myself with a 10 pull from Byssted selection pack and got a 2nd Sprind and some more UR for Lubellion. Not bad.

Why am I 100% WR on Gusto Windwitch? Majority of the plan is fail the OTK cuz of some BS with Sphreez then just end on Crystal Wing and hope he's enough lmao

* cool aesthetics (basically Star Wars + Wizard Of Oz)
* all of the low level monsters can quick effect banish themselves (for cost, to dodge Imperm/Veiler) to summon higher level monsters
* all of the high level monsters float into lower level monsters when destroyed and sent to the GY
* can easily interrupt opponents if you go first (by summoning Sliprider or Dark Destroyer on their turn, plus Dark Lady's soft-once-per-turn omni-negate)
* can OTK opponents with strings of repeated attacks via swapping between monsters in the battle phase
* Kozmo Dark Destroyer is a strong and underrated boss monster
* cheap to build (only needs 2 non-staple UR's, which are 2 copies of Kozmo Farmgirl)
* doesn't need the extra deck (normally it's just for Extrav fodder but Extrav is banned in these events)
* is usable in basically any event because it doesn't need the extra deck and never gets hit by event banlists aside from losing some useful generic spells like Extrav or Reasoning)

If you have any questions about any specific main deck cards or what they're used for, ask me. The extra deck doesn't really matter. The only cards in my extra deck that I might actually use are Chimeratech Fortress Dragon (for enemy Cyber Dragon decks considering it's one of the loaners), Pentestag (for piercing damage), BLS Soldier of Chaos, and Accesscode Talker, but I haven't needed to go into the extra deck a single time yet during this event. If you don't think you'll ever need them, you can just leave the extra deck empty or fill it with random crap.

I JUST MADE A GUSTO DECK!! I love reflect damage and their general designs. I will say, eguls is one of the worst URs I've ever seen.

It just turns out Speedroid decks don't really carry that much destruction in general, at least ones that are practical lmao. He just kinda flimsily summoned another Crystal Wing and just rammed himself to death into my Sphreez. I watched him struggle til the end and gave him a follow. Thanks dawg

Running Eguls is indeed like throwing. You can run the @ignister synchro guy and get more benefit out of it without being locked out by Pilica

Honestly Gustos actually had plays many times in the past. Turn 1 Gustos are rough, but you can like weirdly set up infinite Avian negate, though it's too inconsistent. Windwitches are probably the best turn 1 component cuz Crystal Wing with the bell is pretty strong even in the modern meta

So... it's shit and I recommend running Formula Synchron over Samsara (make it with lvl 1 Gusto and a Magician's Souls. It's not good but it won me a game). I can't say much. Linkuriboh kinda sucks here and can be replaced with @Ignister lvl 7.

The N rarity card is Summon Storm, a pretty good card that can replace some of the weighty URs here. Kurikara is just a random card cuz I was running out of ideas, and more Windwitch Ice Bell the better, but not recommended to go too hard on them

I will say though, whenever they're legal, they've been really op in every single event thus far

Wynn UR is also interchangeable with more copies of Gustos but... it's good. Reeze can be summoned with Tailwind of Gusto. It's not good but you can attach to a lvl 1 Gusto tuner and summon Reeze for a Sphreez synchro

This deck has options. Just that most suck ass

Speedroid does have Kitedrake and CW Rider. Out of archetype, Stellar Wolfrayet is viable though it needs ramp up (which may or may not be fast enough).

Tbf, even Synchron doesn't have practical 'your board is no more!' button, with the best option being accel synchro-ing into Satellite Warrior for non-targeting pops. It is saying that their synchro dragons' base ATK monsters are all 4k which is nowhere enough nowadays but comes with rather cracked effects.

Hero player had game secured, then made the biggest misplay for no reason. They Stratos'd my bluff face down, which is fine, but then also Stratos'd one of my pendulum scales, letting Arc Pendulum Dragon revive Vortex and shuffle Malicious Bane away. >_>

This was after he didn't read Valet's pendulum effect and crashed Plasma into a monster, not knowing he was about to get an attack debuff.

Honestly one weird thing is that the entire game has vastly moved away from negating summons and just negating cards on the field instead. In the 5D's era, majority of the deck ran the Solemn combo (due to banlist, 2 Warnings and 1 Johnson), and it very heavily impacted the way people summoned stuff. Synchros were strong, but you can negate them from having been summoned entirely by essentially getting a 2-3 for one if you baited them into synchroing, until somebody opts to divert to just swarming and controlling, which then would win them the game most likely.

Well it's probably better that way cuz summon negate prevents some cards from activating things that requires the card to have been on the field and properly summoned in the first place. It's actually way stronger than something like negating an effect activation like Ash

Prevented an Exosister player from OTK'ing me due to a single Droplet.

They then surrendered for no reason despite my hand bricked like bad (previous turn I legit just Kaiju their Elis and return the kaiju to my hand via Alpha Master of Beast) and they had Bystial backing up their plays.

...and I'm glad the Abyss Actor continuous spell is twice per turn. Reycled my board wipe into an Imperm column the first time. So I was able to recycle it again. <_<

Finished all the missions and got the title. Man I love this event. Pendulums all day err day.

Abyss Actors has a few sneaky tricks nobody really accounts for, like how their boardwipe becomes "spell speed 4" if you control one of the high-level Actors. Guy held onto his negate too late. >_>

Also helps that any name on board + any name in hand lets you get at least a half-decent combo. Lot of options to extend and play around things. Even if they stop Director you have three different ways to still get to Producer. A lot of fun to puzzle your way into a winning play.

I just had one of the most fun duels I've ever had in this Legend Anthology event. I was using my Kozmo deck, and I ran into a player who was also using Kozmos, but they combined them with Fire King cards to trigger their on-destruction effects from the hand with Fire King Island and also to try and get Fire King High Avatar Garunix in play. Not only was it a really fun back-and-forth duel (which I won) but it was nostalgic because Fire Kings were one of the decks I used to play IRL before I quit, and Kozmos mixed with Fire Kings was a combo that I never considered until today.

Man I love non-targeting, non-destruction removal. Gotta be one of my favorite genders.

Yeah Legend Anthology continues to be one of the better events they have. If they continue the trend, it should be a good old tradition until they finish Vrains format.

I won way more duels with Gustos than I have in the last few years perhaps. Not to say Gulldo set pass is enough no matter wtf happens nowadays, but honestly it's nice having a fighting chance in most duels, which means Sphreez lands for a sick OTK. Not having kaijus really hurt though cuz it massively increases the threshold needed to actually win, but on the flip side, not having kaijus make my winter bell protected Crystal Wing very difficult to out.

It's still weak to bounce, so yeah that's kinda sad.

I also summoned Laplampilica for 2 of the duels. I fucking lost both. This really was like 2 great support that the deck desperately needed, and Laplampilica is chilling as basically what should've been the last hope additional win con for the deck. I just don't understand why Sphreez's daughter basically straight up makes Sphreez worse by expending more resource for nothing. At least regular Pilica is actually insane

While Lightning can prevent Spirit of Neos effect from activating, unless Lightning deals the finishing blow, Neos can just proc on the next blow (or the one before Lightning's turn).

I completed the event, so I went back to ranked for a bit. I somehow drove a Swordsoul player to declare Water attribute with Protos to destroy my Shizuku and the Mo Ye I stole from him with Widow Anchor. Then he summoned Longjuan with its effect to try and make another Synchro, we both paused for a second to think "why Longjuan no make Swordsoul token?", then he scooped.

Legend anthology was interesting. Made me focus on my heroes again. Was lucky enough to actually pull a Wake Up and then crafted the MVP Malicious Bane. I made some weird hands winning hands with that deck.

Also reshuffled somethings and dismantled enough to make Swordsoul Tenyi again. And it just slaps. Trying to save up for the Bystial versions but even with out them its still really good.

Had an insane Gusto v Vamp duel in the current event where it came down to drawing a 2/30 out

I had to draw a Griffin there (one already used). No other cards would've won it. The trap would've tributed my guys, and the Twin Twister pitch Griffin for cost summons Pilica to summon the Gulldo and synchro to Sphreez for the game.

My opponent didn't necessarily play perfectly I think, but he would've won on any other draws there.

I didn't know there is a "cipher" architype for my rgb dragons. But is sucks terribly in rank games. It only good for the event.

Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Xyz is good (except Neo) to pick up one ea by buying the structure once.
