Lost another topic to the purge, RIP. I'm commited though, we're sticking with it.

I can never remember people's usernames, so if ya'll remember peeps who were keeping up with this and wanna tag them please do.

Sanji hasn't even done anything recently cause he hasn't been around, but it felt fitting.

Pretty deep into Impel Down; Luffy is fighting Magellen right now, who is a fucking wild adversary.

Impel Down has been pretty wild but great in general. Loving how many Albasta antagonists are making a resurgence this arc. Love Mr 2., glad they're back and playing an important part. Mr 3. and Buggy's loose alliance has been pretty entertaining as well.

Impel Down just as a place is frankly one of my favorite settings yet honestly. A badass prison break in, and the prison is specifically designed to be loosely themed on layers of hell? That's fucking dope.

I know shit's gonna keep getting crazy, so let's fucking go.

Hard to discuss Sanji more without going into future spoiler territory. I liked him on my initial viewing... 30 years ago. Rewatching/reading, he sucks.

Agreed. Mr 2 is fantastic, and I love them so much now. I had already started to like them by the end of Alabastsa, but good to see them come back and be even more amazing.

Look Im a known Sanji hater at this point, hes by far my least favorite crewmember, and a couple of the really gross things hes said/done have even made me consider dropping the show at times.

That being said tho, I cant agree fully with that statement. He does have some REALLY cool moments, but fuck, just wish hed stop being a womanizing creep.

Punk Hazzard is what really made me hate Sanji. That whole arc he would have been cringey and I wouldn't have liked him, but after so many damn episodes of his shit, I find him irredeemable. Total trash character.

Franky is a top 4 Crewmember IMO, I have no idea where that user is coming from, Franky rocks.

Sanji gets a couple redeeming moments later on, but everything from where you're at to those moments is him at his absolute worst and is part of why I dislike those arcs so much.

I found Fishman Island the worst.

Eh, he's redeemed himself recently. But yeah the worst is still yet to come

Sanji is ok whenever oda isn't playing up his super beyond flanderized womanizing character quirk. Even him begging and relying on robin to save his ass from black maria in wano so he can get back to business was good enough character development.

(I like to think that the extreme womanizing thing is just a hit among japanese little kids or something because he went extreme with it post skypiea/start of davy back fight on up it feels like). The little goofy dance he did for nami and robin during long ring long land or whatever it was called, that was the start lol.

Chopper is my number 1 strawhat that got ruined by going too far with what used to be a minor part of his character....his fear of the unknown. It was a different kind of fear from usopp's fear of practically everything and nami's fear of being weaker than whatever it is she is scared by. When chopper first joined the boat he went straight into helping out in a civil war with no fucks given, told usopp to nut up in their battle against mr. 4 and miss merry christmas, was a little scared of defending the boat against some crazy guy on a fire breathing bird but he did what he could, and he handled his 1 v 1 against that dude gedatsu no problem. Even the first monster chopper reveal against the CP9 dude was a daaaaaaamn moment.

Thriller bark came out and his character got assassinated damn it. You know what, when oda transitioned his chopper design from it's original to the cuter big head one, thats the moment.

Usopp's flanderisation sucks the most imo. Chopper's become a toy magnet but at least Oda doesn't give us false hope like with Usopp. Its so infuriating to see Usopp get character development only fir said character development to get retracted anyway just so he can do it again the next time he's relevant. The only lasting effect of Usopp's several "get serious" moments is his kenbunshoku haki, but he hasn't even used it besides Dressrosa for gods sakr

Nami so far I think has the best one, but Ive still got a few more to go through on this second wave.

Honestly, Thriller Bark is where I really started to get annoyed with Sanji. His entire reaction to the clear clear fruit is entirely unsurprising, and entirely dumb.

But yeah, if you hate Sanji now, by the time you finish Punk Hazard you'll be hoping he gets his ass kicked every arc.

Luffy and Ace are brothers. Luffys dad is Dragon. Now theyre saying that Aces dad is fucking Gol D. Roger. Which sure, maybe theyre half siblings and just had the same mom. But then they say that Aces mom died right after giving birth! Wtf! Theyre def withholding information, but I guess well just have to see what happens.

That does get explained. I think just after Impel Down or before Fishman Island.
