Not only will they force an update, they'll patch every woman's chest to be concave.

Neon, I won't be upgrading all the armor, so I won't be adding a bunch of grinding.

Maybe I'm just not far enough to hit the grind wall yet, but I've adopted the mindset of "I'm not ready yet."

If armor needs 12 lizalfos tails and I don't have 'em, I'll come back when I do. Not gonna run around grinding lizalfos, not gonna dupe tails. Just let the upgrades happen as I play.

If I need 800 rupees for new armor and don't have any, I'll sell some monster parts or just...not buy the armor until later.

The game throws shit at you just for playing it. Play the game.

For those wondering about Autobuild Cancel Slide, it was a glitch using Autobuild with only a plank of wood and an apple. Using the same trick with easy duplication, this would cause the object to try to position itself in front of Link at all times after canceling out of Autobuild and as such, if you stood on it, you'd go super fast. Faster than any other method of transportation.

This reminds me when I couldn't do fun swordless Link shenanigans in OoT because my game cartridge was too new and they fixed the glitch by then. At least I was lucky to still have the uncensored game with the old Fire Temple music and Ganon still having red blood.

Ordinarily I would agree with this, but dragon parts and star fragments are a thing. You'll rarely collect them "as you play", you pretty much have to set out to find them and in the amounts you need for armor upgrades alone (assuming this game is comparable to BOTW) farming them is just too painful. I did it once in BOTW and I have no desire to do it again.

Never got a chance to try it out for myself. C'est la vie.

Why should anyone care if someone cheats in a singleplayer game? Not everyone has the time and patience to grind for hours on end.

you need like 40 lizalfos tails of whatever element to upgrade a complete set of temperature resistant armor. i don't care to do duping glitches like this, but what the fuck is up with that? zelda isn't supposed to be a tedious grinding game like an mmo or jrpg

one that requires you to expend your own resources, at that. you'll have to break many weapons over the lizards heads, because tails are not a 100% drop chance. AND there's only a set amount in between blood moon cycles. and this is just one example. white maned lynels are required for the barbarian set

as an aside, the upgrade system is too limited. what's the point of all the unique outfits if you can't upgrade them? you can upgrade the very first armor you get at lookout landing and rock a full 60 defense, meanwhile the OoT ganondorf outfit is a fucking SAGA to get, and sits at an un-upgradeable 24 or whatever with a fucking stealth boost... same with the tingle set. 6 TOTAL defense, no upgrades, and you move faster at night. only at night. so it isn't even useful for just getting around quickly as a utility. just horrible

yeah, it's oddly demanding, yet restrictive. and completely unchanged from BotW to boot, not a single improvement or quality of life change. you can't even upgrade multiple things at once, you have to skip through the great fairy sexually harrassing link each time. it's like they WANT you to just not fuck with it at all. not to mention the runaround they give you to even access the great fairies to begin with. just really really unintuitive, dated, player-unfriendly.

Weapon/armor need to play survival mode so player understood the fleeting moments that weapon and armor has after flinging around towards enemies. Its not to punish player but to enhance the experience of already great games 10/10

Hopefully they patch the mercilessly poor drop rates if they are going to fix stuff like this

I looked in on a speedrun and even going full throttle it takes the guy like 9 minutes to go outside.
Anti-fun patches are the last thing these guys need.

Edit: Oh right the cinematic before he's actually allowed to play. Make that 10 minutes.

speaking of, i've killed 4 gleeoks (3 headed dragon) and not one has dropped its guts item i need for a sidequest. it says which one will drop guts, but you'd think after the 4 i killed while doing other things, guts would drop. nope. same with moblin guts, couldn't believe i had so few, because they're an upgrade material, but for whatever reason, guts in general have a small drop chance for no reason

i'd say it hurts both experiences in the same way -- it represents the most effective way to play. tell me how it isn't a mistake to play the game normally once you know how to dupe.

this is coming from someone who invades in elden ring and has indeed dealt with gank squads with duped bullshit -- uplifting aromatics, starlight shards, miquella's branches. i am fighting them 3v1 and i don't think my experience is hurt by that. i think theirs is. they never get to really learn.

These are all optional though, right?

I mean, maybe things change further into the game, but I got the cold resistant armor that allowed me to beat the first temple for 500 rupees, and I just started the fire area and bought the armor that will allow me to complete that temple for 750 rupees. All of which was immediately available to me by just selling ore that I got along the straight shot travels from one location to the next.

Just seems like the conversation is kinda veering off into the "everyone should be expected to 100% the game and if you make anything difficult to do so it's a design flaw"

The point was that these are not basic upgrades. They are optional. Mostly not meant to all be gathered to begin with, but further also not meant to interrupt your playthrough as a grindfest.

If you choose to do that, that's on you.

it is. achievement points are a system that leverage dopamine hits against people like that, and so are 99-totem grinds. games are very much part designer drug these days.
