In my area, they'd be the silent middle class; silent mostly because they had to work an insane number of hours to get that much just to reside somewhere pleasant, and I don't imagine they'd have the time or energy to say anything. --- http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb179/EntityXIII/entityfn7.jpg ... You could definitely buy a nice house on your own with that income but with the current housing market, it wouldn't be anything too extravagant. My brother and sister in law each make like 150k-175k a piece and while their house is really nice, it's not a mansion. I'd say comfortably upper-middle class and fairly well-off. That's enough money that you don't have to be particularly frugal to avoid financial troubles, but not so much that financial trouble is entirely off the table (which is how I'd interpret "very well-off"), and also not so much that you can live comfortably without working if you're so inclined (which is how I'd interpret "rich"). --- This is my signature. Same job in Cali pays over 90k. And to my understanding we both live about as well as the other. Taxes kill me. Depends on how they made it. Mostly wages? Working class. Mostly from property paying dividends/rent or appreciating in value? Owner class. Part wages, part property? Middle class. In practice, if that's just salary with no other information, they probably also have investments and/or own a house, putting them in middle class. --- 96065 ... Copied to Clipboard!
