was sad to see that azure sword is totally out of contention here with just 2 R4s and 1 R5 (which is strictly an R5 loser no less), though it actually does seem to be doing decently respectably overall, with more R3s or higher than R1 losses projected. definitely shows how disgustingly brutal this 8pack is going to be...

It feels good to have some predictions that I like and that can also win. Not to get ahead of things while its still round 1.

Without looking at today's votals...C3 is another competitive division! The leaders are Astebreed ~ The Void and PowerOne with 6 R4's and 3 R5's, then Megaraph Fleet with 5 R4's and 3 R5's. Interestingly, Astebreed and PowerOne's opponents are also well-liked - gram-encounter with 4 R4's and 3 R5's, Divine Song of a Certain Dragon with 4 R4's and 1 R5! Those will be some good matchups.

Glad Breaking Free kept it close in the end.

While I ended up liking all the ice songs in varying amounts, Colder Than the Rest and Frozen Cave both have a feeling that strongly appeals to me, which is being in an icy wasteland surrounded by freezing wind.

Breaking Free is my favorite song in the contest so far. Its intense both musically and emotionally. When I first heard it I felt the same amazement I felt first hearing Emptiness and, which is one of my favorite VGM and something I didnt think could be topped.

RIP Splatoon. Has that game series ever won a match? (edit: looking at the total stats sheet, it now has a 0-7 record....) This year's Splatoon music >> last year's Splatoon music. Toxic Anoxic and Dead Sea are both going to get a really good placement in my rankings this year!

Splatoon has had some bad luck in the past, Splattack! drew Seize the Truth! and Calamari Inkantation drew Kill Command which are remarkably difficult matches to win.

On to D2 stats! Believe it or not, Don't speak her name has the lead with 7 R4's and 3 R5's! Next in line are Dancing Mad with 6 R4's and 3 R5's, then The Blue Sanctuary with 5 R5's and 4 R4's. Poor City Centre had 5 people taking it to R4, but none of them picked it for retirement...

One of those people was me! I had City Centre going far both because Zoo has done well in the past and because I like the Sleepwalker soundtrack overall (Dreams is my favorite). I may have been scared of making the retiree call but Id like to see it happen.

I would've voted for all three losers yesterday. Shame because Blue Sanctuary did not deserve that upset.

Oh boy D3...since we started the second half, the frontrunners' R4 and R5 scores have been 6-4, 7-4, 6-3, 6-4, 7-3, 7-3. D3's *runner-up* has 7-4, namely Chain of Pain. Ahead of it is...Banbard ~Piano Ver~ with 11-7?! I think that's a new record. The closest was HODO in A1 with 11-5, and that was with a bigger sample size!

Does that mean D3 is the weakest section of the bracket?

This contest is my first exposure to Arknights OST and its all been impressive. In relistening Untrodden Morn moved up and Void of Space down, though not by much since it still uses the Genesis crunchiness pretty well.

I said longer songs have to be very consistently good for me to like them and Blue Sanctuary gets there. Rich instrumentation, lovely vocals and multiple style changes that keep it interesting.
