Keeping it simple to start, the B8VGM website has been updated with our newest results, bringing us from 228 to 244 retirees! https://p0p0p0p.github.io/retirees.html

Here's an interesting stat: 11 out of the 16 retirees were "regular songs" in that they had proper endings and didn't loop! Only Northeast Frost Street, SHININ' QUEEN, The Sunleth Waterscape, PowerOne, and Dancing Mad were looping BGM, and even some of those feel like they could've been written with an ending. Compare this to last year, when over half of the retirees looped:

Congrats to kama and Prod for the highest win rates in the contest, with 67.1% and 66.5% of matches going their way! The strongest pair goes to sergio and TunnelScene, with an impressive 79.6% agreement! In fact, everyone has at least one compatibility friend at 60% or more among users whose participation was 60%. If we require 80% participation though, poor Prince, tgs, and ArkOfTurus only have a friend with 58.4%, 59.4%, and 59.9%.

Finally, the long-awaited Topster chart to close out the contest! I didn't mess with the default format much (it was hard enough finding all the game/soundtrack covers), but I'd say it nicely captures the essence of "VGMC 17" in one image! At the top are the retirees ordered by performance, then each user's first day 1 nom (some that missed the bracket, some that made it, and some that retired).
