https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/first-read/-country-fire-new-poll-finds-america-polarized-culture-race-woke-rcna81592

The countrys cultural divides and political divides have become one and the same, according to a new national NBC News poll.

The poll finds stark partisan differences on major cultural issues racism, accepting LGBTQ people, the term woke, and even the fundamental goals of American society.

Half of Americans 50% believe society should be promoting greater respect for traditional social and moral values, while 42% say society should be encouraging greater tolerance of people with different lifestyles and backgrounds. That perspective has stayed almost completely stagnant since the poll asked the same question in 2013.

Digging into those numbers reveals a deep partisan divide.

Three in four Republicans say the country should promote traditional social and moral values, while 67% of Democrats want greater tolerance of diverse lifestyles and backgrounds. Independents are split, with 49% picking traditional values and 41% siding with greater tolerance.

The survey revealed a country on fire, seething with anger at our political leaders and too often at each other, said Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research, who conducted the poll along with GOP pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinion Strategies.

The poll revealed a country sharply divided on these questions politically, and often ethnicity and generation, he added.

I think people on the left often give people too much benefit of the doubt. It's easier to believe the rhetoric is highly unpopular and that the media is just appealing to a dying demographic. But this shit is popular. Our country has literally backslide 50-70 years in the last 8.

tradition is massively parallel trial and error on a societal and multigenerational scale converging in the form of cultural patterns carrying latent knowledge about the human condition, interpersonal relationships, and collective relationships with the environment and other societies

the folly of traditionalist conservatives is blindness to its existence within an open system rather than a vacuum, and thus need of ongoing reevaluation and evolution reflecting present circumstances, internal and external

conversely, progressive liberals intuitively understand the open system as it relates to the impermanence of a traditional "state" but arrogantly believe it can be thrown out wholesale and replaced with new constructs formed a priori and imposed society-wide, oblivious to the possibility of latent externalities and also occasionally implicitly assuming a closed system with respect to their own prescriptions

There are conservatives who recognize that being identified as a part of the Republican party makes them look like a Nazi a bit too much but actively agree with them on most every stance (well... maybe all of them...). Thus they are "independent." It is the problem when breaking part people based on political party identification rather than ideology.

acceptance of alternative lifestyles, sexuality, even heterosexuality, recreational drugs, advances in medical-science, technology, critical thinking skills, workers rights, child labor laws, the right to vote for non white male landowners, all of it is being reversed, all for the sake of the appeal to authoritarianism and to appease the never ending hunger for power that is corporations and those who own them. We are legit in the end stage of capitalism as a country and right now we're less 5 weeks away from a historic default on the national debt that could plunge the world economy down the tubes.

Problem is you act like people want to interact in a positive constructive way with others. That isn't always the case. You're not going to always people who are willing to accept others, or even tolerate them and let them be. People are too eager to hurt and destroy others, even those who have never done anything to them and it's serious problem. If everyone was open towards actually working towards a peaceful and constructive solution the world wouldn't be in the mess that is in.

I remember lots of people saying they wouldn't take the caffeine just because it began during trump's time. I remember people wishing death on those who ignored the guidelines and also the unvaccinated. If the last few years taught me anything is that politics are worse than sports and that they're not worth engaging in, unless i want to lose my sanity. People are destroying each other over the dumbest of shit, bunch of fallacies thrown instead of trying to find common ground. Biden promised the country would heal under his presidency, but i say the people need to take that step themselves first.
