Your mortgage is only $780 and you only have $40k left on it how would you spend your money so that youre better set up for retirement?

maximize traditional 401k contributions, if available

Max HSA, if available to you

backdoor Roth IRA $6500

mega backdoor Roth, if available to you

taxable brokerage any remainder

I dont have 401k option. And is HSA really that important?

The other stuff I can do.

No employer sponsored retirement accounts at all? Are you self employed?

HSA contribution limits tend to be very low anyway so it's not that big of a deal if it's not part of your health insurance plan

no, you should not buy condos to rent out because landlordism is unforgivable parasitism of those with lesser means

We arent public yet and dont have those benefits. We do have health insurance, though.

Damn what you said about condos makes me want them more. Im not saying youre wrong. I agree with you 100%. But now more than ever its a dog eat dog world. Its exhausting trying to educate the masses and so in the end, you kinda just have to look out for yourself. Ill be a good landlord, though. I wont ask for tips on top of rent.

I would invest in the development of a robot body.

Preferably one with tons of weapons I can use to go on a cyber-psychosis rampage.

-Pay off the mortgage
-Max IRA and HSA contributions every year
-Reserve a little as liquid in a cash account
-Invest the rest in an S&P 500 index fund

I might look into target-date funds as I near retirement age.

I'm personally not interested in rental properties, so if I decided I wanted to get into the real-estate market I'd just buy shares of real-estate "stock" (REITs).

Good advice, tbh. Minus the rampage part since the whole point of a robot body is being around forever and going toe-to-toe with the military undermines that.

Yeah but those parts are more easily replaceable.
