Do you like awesome things that are awesome?

I find their career trajectories and public perceptions so similar it's uncanny. Even to the point where the franchises they're most known for are arguably better off without them.

1) Please stop.
2) Inafune because Lucas did Clone Wars and Inafune is a joke.

Lucas is having a resurgence now and I'm pretty sure most SW fans prefer the PT to the ST

I mean, Capcom's Inafune-less Mega Man was better-received than the spiritual successor from the man himself, which can be argued to be a parallel to how Disney-era Star Wars stuff has generally been better received than the prequel trilogy.

I should have asked for bigger fall from grace between Keiji and JK Rowling evidently.

This is true from critics and general audience scores, but not from Star wars nerds.

Rise of Skywalker was awful and rushed, and everyone knew that. And yet still it didn't tank the sequel trilogy's overall numbers down below the prequel trilogy's.

The critics mostly liked The Last Jedi, though fan response was polarizing. Nobody hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans, though With TFA, they whined about how the plot was recycled exactly. Then with TLJ, they didn't like the creative liberties taken (I liked the risks they took, personally). Just how it is...

the Disney-era stuff that is being well-received is the Filoni stuff, who is thought of as a "Lucas disciple" (citation needed but I remember seeing it in Variety I think). This makes sense since Filoni worked with Lucas directly on Clone Wars.

Andor is also well-received, and that isn't a Filoni product, but it's really not a Disney product either. It's really just Michael Clayton in space, which a lot of grown-ups like but I'm hesitant to even call it Star Wars.

X isnt really Star Wars has always been a terrible take since its a broad setting that can do a lot of different stories. Regardless it doesnt apply to Andor, which is obviously a thematic followup to parts of A New Hope and more obviously Rogue One.

As for the rest of it its all reviewed well and gotten good audience metrics except for The Rise of Skywalker and even that made a billion dollars. Its fair to say that the Disney-era stuff has gone down well despite some of it being divisive online. Of course with that said in audience terms the prequels also got pretty good scores and box office, though not on a level with most of the stuff under Disney.

The thing about the health of Star Wars is, for both the prequels and the sequels, you have to just ignore the internet entirely. There is no franchise I can think of where the online fandom is as divorced from the general audience as this and thats been true for a long time.

Its irrelevant on Lucas though, because whatever you felt about the prequels, after that he went on to be showrunner on The Clone Wars which has some of the best Star Wars content ever. Its the best stuff Lucas was involved with since 1980 for sure.

Relative to Star Wars, only a cult following cared about Mega Man in the first place.

Keiji Inafune never really had all that much to do with Mega Man's success, it's sort of a misappropriation that everyone thinks he does

LMS I think you should give a visit to the star wars board sometime. It'd be entertaining to see you interact with those... people.
