I mean, Capcom's Inafune-less Mega Man was better-received than the spiritual successor from the man himself, which can be argued to be a parallel to how Disney-era Star Wars stuff has generally been better received than the prequel trilogy. the Disney-era stuff that is being well-received is the Filoni stuff, who is thought of as a "Lucas disciple" (citation needed but I remember seeing it in Variety I think). This makes sense since Filoni worked with Lucas directly on Clone Wars. Andor is also well-received, and that isn't a Filoni product, but it's really not a Disney product either.
