Heck yeah, even in the 80's, look at some of the movies from back then, and just imagine that production being put towards Mario Brothers, heck honestly some of the movies in the 70's you coulda used the same tech to make a great mario brothers game but you would be freaking telling the future at that point.

The super Mario brothers love action movie could have been great if they didn't try to make it so realistic.

Possibly. I think the tech just want there yet in the 80s.

At the time of the movies release, Super Mario World was the latest release. So I think that's why they went hard on the dinosaur stuff.

I think the funniest thing about that movie is that it means there is a connection between Super Mario Brothers and Redneck Rampage.

Mojo Nixon, who played Toad in the Super Mario Brothers movie, wrote the soundtrack to Redneck Rampage 5 years later, and voiced one of the enemies.

If anything, older movie technology ages better in my opinion. I'd take puppets and stop motion over aged cgi.

I mean, if you're all about weird connections, there's also the fact that depending on the game Mario is Paarthurnax in Skyrim, and Peach is Cortana from Halo.

Yes it would have been. It wasn't the technology that rendered the movie so bad, but whatever possessed them to make so many baffling decisions. There were lots of great movies with fantastic elements that still hold up well today, and the story is very simple.

Although I do think that Mario will always be better animated.
