Why? What point does it serve when you're nerfing cards that people can build decks around?

It makes sense from a design standpoint. As said in the patch notes, the concept of wave's existence makes cost reduction a tricky concept to develop further. With her previous function, any cost reduction was a workaround to the nature of her effect.

Wave is meant to let you play an expensive card early while also giving the same opportunity to your opponent. Otherwise, she's a floodgate that can really slow down decks like Thanos that have a lot of low cost cards.

Maybe, but I honestly have seen next to no issue with Wave. She's not that strong at all, and decks that benefit from her seemed to be like...3. At most.

She wasn't as meta defining as, say, Electro-Sandman ramp or Thanos Lockjaw.

Either way, feels like a dumb change.

HOWEVER I am excited for Phoenix Force being added in. Because an instant revival of a card that was destroyed that can now move anywhere? Uhm, fuck yes.

And the power of each kept going up as they returned to my hand. The middle location reveal is all kitty pryde. So I think I had 8 of her cards in this game lol. I wish for that always to happen

I got Howard the Duck, good combo with Iton Lad but most wins Ive had are people retreating and me bluffing with snaps.

He Shang Chi'd my Venom which buffed Knull even more, very fun lol. I guess he thought he could win by taking middle and right lane? Not entire sure what his plan was.

Also didn't make sense why he enchantress'd the power stone. Put way too much priority on that lol.

Some people are very afraid of that 20 power Thanos drop. I very rarely even play Thanos himself, but when the stars align he basically auto-wins a space. Maybe this guy has Thanos-related PTSD.

Possible. Very possible. Idk, seemed like a waste of a card to me. I don't think he could have won in any case.

Feels like no one uses Howard the Duck, never have I had so many reaction emotrs to a card before. Its been usefull, not a fame changes but I like it.

Letting you all know leveling up only requires 7 cubes now instead of 10. I think is more fitting as it keeps the pace with the actual game itself, which moves fast. Instead of having to languish in lower tiers not getting the newer season cards

Love that a double snap win guarantees a rank up. But also works the other way. Great change.

But there are more retreats now, from me and the others.

He just doesnt seem that worth it. With deck sizes being so small, he just doesnt seem necessary for most decks. Specially with Iron Lad, if you are not building a deck for Iron Lad there really isnt much of a point in using him, let alone him and Howard together.

I snapped too. Dark Hawk, Negative, Magik, etc. Turn 4, I do Galactus(who was also Peak'd) and DESTROY his entire plan. All he had left was Venom I guess lmao. I had a 16 power Dead Pool, 73 Knull...dude didn't stand a chance.

This. It seems like almost more of a nuisance for an opponent, not anything you have to play around. Snap said they are going to introduce more cards that revolve around scrying and top deck type mechanics though so I could see it being HUGE later.

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take, but sometimes when you take the shot you hit your own foot.

Anyone else get HE yet? He's been pretty fun, only played a small handful of matches.

Quick note: Patriot does not work with the cards. They have abilities now, so he doesn't buff the likes of Cyclops or Abom. I tested just to be sure.

You have to update the game, and he's not out for iOS yet (Apple takes longer to approve updates).

Been working with this deck since I unlocked She-Hulk recently, and I've been having very good results with it. Original deck had Scorpion, but I replaced him with Daredevil and I like him here

Thank God. I hate locations that stop you from playing on them. Now get rid of all the others like that.

After a couple of days playing around, I can officially say that high evolutionary is a very fun play style. I've always liked the "energy bank" concept, benefiting you for playing behind curve, but there were only ever a couple of cards that went with it. Now, with cyclops, hulk, and misty knight, there are enough cards to make it a real archetype. I hope to see even more things done with it in the future.

Also, HE is a pretty strong deck. Balanced by the fact that Luke Cage basically dumpsters him unless you manage to get a good enchantress play. Most people seem to have caught on to playing him on the final turn though lol

Hulk, Sunspot, Abomination, and She-Hulk are going to absolutely be fun to run with High Evolutionary with the energy stuff.

Yeah, Sunspot and She-Hulk are must-haves, I put them in mine for sure lol

Abomination is really solid with Wasp and Cyclops too.

Having played against a few High Evolutionary decks, I think Hulk might be a bit too strong. He takes 10 times less effort to get to incredibly strong power levels that even Thanos can't match for way too little effort.

Like, I gotta have a perfect play to beat a Hulk with my Thanos. Meanwhile, Hulk just needs to lose out on 4 energy total and he's already stronger than Thanos. Kinda ruins the appeal of playing a Thanos deck imho.

Ngl, Wave has been my MVP for this season considering the sheer amount of Kitty Prydes I see in almost every game.

Yeah, and with the other benefits from going without spending energy, that's way too easy to achieve. Cyclops is already pumping -2 power per turn, Misty Knight is +1, Sunspot is +X per turn, and Hulk is +2 per turn. All that for ~1 energy left over at the end of each of those turns.

So by the end of the game each of those 1 energy is building up ~6 power per point of unspent energy, which counts for Hulk even before he's played. It's a lottttt of power.

I think Hulk needs a nerf to maybe +1 power per unspent turn, so he's stronger than the default Hulk but not ludicrously so. Cyclops is also very strong, but he's more situational and gets easily countered by Luke Cage.

If you can, slot Odin in somewhere, maybe for Bast. I played a deck the other day that did Widow turn 2, Wave turn 3, Odin turn 4 and just completely ruined anything I could do.
