Also, fwiw, Lea, I think as a general rule I don't get too riled at Mafia. I used to like a decade ago, but I both had a functioning brain and an actual temper then. Being dumb and jumping on a train for no reason certainly ain't gonna do it, and if I'm asked for a claim when I think it's reasonable, I'd rather give it than be an arse to my own and everyone else's detriment.

1- BlueCrystalTear - loud town
2- Crescent-Moon - Unsure. I don't know if I've been really been getting the same 'going for the jugular' vibes as others have, and haven't played with her before. Need more time.
3- ctes - I was ready to come in and say that ctes' early posts felt a bit like they were missing his, well, curiosity - in a very je ne sais quoi kind of way. But then Chris gave him the opportunity to list people and he took it and I feel better about it.
4- Death - my gut is screaming death is scum i can't lie or explain or justify it. normally my gut pings him town and gives him the benefit of the doubt, that is not happening here.
5- EDumey - I don't mind the softclaim. Certainly comes out better in the Sheep dynamics imo.
6- Han - I have PTSD. Let's be friends for now Han.
7- JC - hi yes that is me
8- Lea - town soul read
9- MZero - i was pleased that mzero actually engaged in a proper discussion while he was here
10- Sheep007 - I'm leaning Sheep as scum who is comfortable playing icarus at the moment. But not sure pressure should be applied here given he's claimed already. If he's scum and Dumey is town, then I think that adds asterisks to his second attempted soulread of Death.
11- SirChris - I feel good about Chris so far. I am constantly terrified of Chris (I have heard songs of his mafia plays elsewhere) but have no reason to suspect him.
12- Sultan - I have my eye on Sultan but don't really have a solid read. Last game I had a town soul read because Sultan had a very prominent 'ask some actually quite observant questions' game going with a bit of OMGUS added to the mix. The questions this game feel a bit milder, but the concussion gives me pause in trying to jump to a conclusion here.
13- UltimaterializerX - I don't really feel great about Ulti. It's almost 'too' standard Ulti? idk. I feel like I'm about to win 'things town ulti does on d1' bingo right now and it's unsettling. And there's a weird contrast between his approach right out of the gate. he goes from 'pce, see u when chris wields the hammer of justice in 48 hours' to 'dumey scum soulread' in the span of like ten posts. It could be irrelevant as scum or town Ulti might just not give a shit but it strikes me as odd.
14- wallmasterz - I think wallmasterz is fine for now, and I can deeply relate to starting and not knowing the references to past games. I'm inclined to give a day to properly observe and form opinions since he hasn't done anything offensive.

Well that doesn't have very many scum reads so will have to keep observing but anyways, the soul read beckons.

And I would add that I reckon Ulti is much, much more likely to play this way if Chris is around (I will give you the benefit of the doubt on that one due to not having played with Chris).

To answer your question, Death, I feel a little better about Sultan? He got kinda aggy when I pushed him and started pushing back on me himself. I kinda wish I'd given myself a lil more time on the claim if only to get more of that, but it felt like a natural irritated reaction. I think I'm slightly leaning town at this point, but it's very close to neutral and subject to change.

Oh and yeah the stance on Mzero talks him up a bit too much

I would call my read on Death much closer to a soulread than what I felt on Dumey btw. I've not really been more than moderately leaning Town on Dumey internally (they're probably like my fourth highest townread? after BCT/Death/Crescent) but I wholeheartedly wanted to be a little bitch about it at the start. That said, I am slightly puzzled how anyone sees Death so far in this game and calls him Scum. It's possible JC and I are just mortally opposed souls.

Lea is here, constructive, critical, and is oozing good vibes.

MZero - Post 196 and around there. It's not much but it's more than I expected tbh. Obviously he'll have to show up and keep it up but if he continues to engage in that level of discussion i will be moderately satisfied. this is now somewhat undermined by me declaring what will moderately satisfy me but the people demanded an explanation.

Chris is just always working to solve the game. I like that. Whether it's Chris gaslighting the shit out of us is up in the air. It's not a terribly complex take.

If Sheep is scum and Dumey is town, then I think that Sheep throwing a second soulread/town read out on Death was likely an attempt to distance or decouple.

I do struggle a little to follow your train of thought with the link between me and Death and me and Dumey, JC. You reckon that if I'm Scum and Dumey is Town, I'm deliberately linking myself with my scumbuddy Death, in an attempt to cover the muddy, townclearing footprints I've stomped all over the game?

Did Death really walk away in the fifteen minutes between his last post and JC's question to him? Or is he just taking some time to type out a post?

I don't have much of an opinion on Death at the moment, so would be glad to hear him answer JC's question. One thing I did make note of was Death asking Sheep specifically about MZero out of the blue. While maybe ironic because of the recent outburst about MZero in topic, I just thought at the time, of all people to ask Sheep an opinion on, why that one?

Anyway now that we've discussed Sheep a lot, and we can just murder him later if we want since vanilla claims are nice safety valves (hint sheep get your head on straight if you are town please)

What does everyone think of Ulti's day so far? I think it is reasonably close to how I would expect Ulti to act with me in the game except I'd think he would poke me a little bit more to try to figure me out or, failing that (because Ulti has a read on me already) he would help me skewer Sheep earlier to see what comes out of it.

Instead he's been pretty passive and go with the flow of whatever comes will come, which I think eliminates a sheep/ulti pairing from my mind becase I don't think scum ulti just let's me smack around scum sheep earlier and not hop on to look good.

Ulti has just come back from two games playing incredibly inactively. One of those games he at least had a genuine excuse with Covid, and tried to make a comeback in the back end of the game, but the first one (Xenoblade) he was a complete bystander with no input the entire game.

I am not saying this to throw shade at Ulti, I'm just saying his lackadaisical activity level right now is consistent with his past two Town games. I think Ulti may have been serious last game when he said that ignoring D1 may just be better for him because it's easier to analyze in retrospect than in the moment. I am not sure how much he would be spurred to act simply by your presence.

Addressing Sheep's opening page comment about thinking of claiming page 1 and then claiming vanilla I think suggests something different from what my mind thinks of when thinking of Sheep as scum. I pretty much brutalized sheep day 1 of poke wars mafia but he actually almost slid out of trouble with his late tracker claim. I think for the perspective of scum sheep botched this to be valid it would indicate that I really put the screws to him and managed to disrupt his game to the point where he panicked.

Which, if this is true, then certainly everyone who was voting for him at that point was town. That's not the type of move a scum makes if there are ways for a scum buddy to turn down the pressure. I think one of the reasons I am hesitant to see this as scum indicated though is that it feels a bit too self-congratulatory for my tastes. I was prodding Sheep certainly but I was nowhere near in the full swing like I was in the latter half of day 1 of poke wars where I was doing some vicious work. I feel as if scum sheep should be able to hold up to scrutiny a bit better than that.

Reading over Sheep even now feels like he is committing a lot of unforced errors. He keeps getting basic facts wrong. Which is making it difficult to form a concrete read because it is possible some of my problems with Sheep earlier are just Sheep not being 'with it' which has overlap with his previous scum games by coincidence.

Or he's scum and he's trying hard to kind of screw with town in trying to project a member of town who is struggling.

The unforced errors though are... not what I would expect from a sheep of any alignment, really.

Ulti has weirded me out a little by being so buddy buddy with me but usually when he's scum he's trying to lynch me by now. Town Ulti generally plays nicer with me.

His behavior with Dumey and Sheep kinda felt just.. Normal to me I guess. Ulti being stupidly stubborn about where he keeps his vote is pretty par for Ulti.

Chris vote on Ulti feels more like some combination of "bait" and "wake up" to me than anything else. If I had to give a lean either way it'd be town at the moment just because he hasn't tried to kill me yet.

Sheep was my number 1 for the first part of the day, but something about the response to Sheep's claim and (from my perspective) disregarding of Sheep's posts earlier in the day makes me think it's more likely that Sheep is town now.
I want to see Crescent more. I really liked Crescent early on, but I feel like her aggression misfired after Sheep's claim and I want to see where she goes from here.
Ctes had a negative point from earlier and the way he reacted to Wallmaster.
Death I think in the previous game played more of a "voice of reason" but as JC pointed out, Death has only really pinged people for questions so far, so Death has not impressed me yet.
MZero we need more of.

I tend not to vote until I've actually built my own argument on someone, and I'm still definitely in an information gathering mode.
I'd be curious if anyone else agrees with me that Crescent's reaction to Sheep's claim felt too aggressive, or just as aggressive as they'd expect? Crescent claimed multiple times that Sheep is "talking at people more than to people." It feels like Crescent is placing a higher burden to scum hunt on Sheep than anyone else in the game.

I like how multiple people have called my Ulti vote bait, including Ulti himself.

Like what's the point of bait if everyone calls it bait you guys are the worst.
