btw, how does promoting cards work? Ichiban is lvl 99 but I still cant promote him. Do I have to max out his corporal attack? How high does that go?

Promoting requires Promotion Jewels that you can buy from the priest's virtue shop. You can promote cards when they reach their max level and it's like a limit break where they'll keep their stats but go back to Level 1 to be trained up again. Corporal traits go up to +5 and Trooper to +10, but I think the cap might be lower for non-Legendary troopers.

Derp, I didn't realize the promotion jewels were inventory items. i thought it was automatic >_> It worked after I took them out from a jizo statue. But thanks for telling me how it works

WTF, all my progress in the Karakuri scarecrow room got erased or something. I beat all the levels in Easy and Medium. Then I did a bunch of other shit and came back and I'm back in basic with all my progress and score erased

The blade I spent most of the day farming for. Can't say it's worth it if you're not going for completion. I think the visual effect is unique, but the seals (health drain and guard break) aren't. Supposedly the original shot out beams or something but this one doesn't.

God damn that was rough. I gotta say, the completion rewards were pretty disappointing but nothing prepared me for heading over to Bob after the crafting completion to get my very well-deserved Sacrifice Stone. I burst out laughing.

lol that sucks. Which sword do you think is the best one? I know you were hyping up the fire sword earlier. Is that still the case?

Yeah I think that's probably the best bet if you're wanting to get through the dungeons as easily as possible. It only as 3 open seal slots (whereas a few others have 5) but having the ingrained fire element and +armor damage makes up for it.

I got the thunder sword and the poison sword (didnt have the materials for the fire sword yet RIP). The thunder sword is pretty good cuz it stuns enemies after a combo. The poison sword is ehhh. The enemies take damage over time but it's pretty small. Like 15 a second for maybe 10-15 seconds.

Hmm my poison sword was building up faster. Is yours "___'s Demise" or is it the earlier one?

It's the last one in the line with a 5 star rating. Maybe it's higher but I remember feeling unimpressed by it >_> I'm also using it on 6 star dungeon missions where the guys are pretty beefy so maybe it's that too?

I know you said this game wasn't as horny as the others, but I just did the brothel minigames and there's definitely a lot of titty in there.

The brothel minigame in Ishin is pretty tame compared to all that >_> The most pervy it gets is the chick's titties bouncing around a little bit when she's playing rock paper scissor. The sake minigame is super tame and (ironically) the sex minigame doesn't show much. It's just a shmup with quick glimpses of her laying down (but it's the same animations from Yakuza 0's phone minigame lol)

I first stuck to the Light element swords because it has the least-offensive visual effect and seeing Ryoma with a flaming sword during the in-game dialogue cutscenes would've distracted me too much. Problem with Light is that once it stuns enemies you knock them right out of it with an attack, but with Thunder/Flame they're locked into a knockdown. The Poison damage didn't seem worth it to me, either.

I forgot about the gravure swimsuit videos. Technically this game came out before Yakuza 0, so this is barely more or less tame than Yakuza 4. Yakuza only really got hornier as they made more and more games.

Oichu Kabu is the most high risk low reward game, but I keep trying to get 10-10-1 as player so I can snag 20,000 easy tags.

But now that I've unlocked high roller stuff in Cho-Han, I'm not sure why I would even bother. If I wanna screw myself out of tags, I can just play Cee-lo.

The Extreme Rooms in Scarecrow Chateau were MUCH easier compared to some of the Hell Rooms. Did them all just this morning before going to work.

Unlocking Revelations feels as good as ever. I like how they do it in this game where you have to perform the proper setup before you get to have your moment.

I've played almost 25 hours and I'm still on the chapter before you get the trooper cards. I should probably do some story.

The singing and dancing minigames are way too hard.

Yea it's a lot. The memoirs were a pain since they spawn in on certain chapters instead of all at once, so if you weren't following a guide you'd have to explore places you've already checked repeatedly.
