arxiv is a free site. Anybody here can read up on BERT and what it improved upon and is still limited by, one-shot learning, Monte Carlo Tree Search, and whatever is going on in computer vision since I don't keep up with that as closely as the other three.

Its not a parrot though, it's an input output reader. This is like calling your calculator alive because if you tell it 2+2 it gives you 4. It's not even autonomous. It cannot do anything outside the purview of the prompts its been given. Because fundamentally the chat bots are just very, very sophisticated calculators.

For real.

I thought the futurology meme died a decade go after everyone with a fully functioning brain realized it's just the same flawed logic of any random religion in the world with a thin "I watch sci fi movies sometimes so that's gonna happen sometime before the heat death of the universe" wrapper

But this is why people still throw money at anything AI and it helps me so I really can't complain that much
