I dont think this is a contradiction. Bens role views Sbell, determines that he is not a star spirit as his fake-flavor is not, and returns No. Wouldnt that satisfy the requirements?

I remember in Yu-Gi-Oh Mafia when Hb got a guilty scan on Ben. None of us were prepared for it, and Ben was saying he couldn't be there to defend himself because of work. So what did he do? Claimed Watcher as a defense and then left.

He didn't consult us to make sure the claim looked good and didn't have contradictions (it was very contradictory and ended up sealing his fate further). I told him he could have claimed vanilla. He didn't and claimed power to seem more convincing.

Ben makes botched flavor claims all the time when his back is against the wall.

This has nothing to do with flavor meta. Frankly, I don't buy this "sealed Star Spirit powers" nonsense that Ben started.

I am looking at this as "everything Ben has claimed has very conveniently lined up to make himself appear as town, to an uncanny degree, and this reminds me more of wolf-is-cornered Ben than genuine town Ben."

The scum equity for "such a blatant look-at-me fake claim" is to get people off his back lest he gets mislynched. There is absolutely scum equity from a desperation claim if the worst that happens is that their goose gets cooked anyway.

Ben had the choice to either claim and possibly weasel his way out, or he could not claim and die.

I have been holding back on saying this, because i didn't want to clue you into it, but I feel like you are treating me like you did in the game where you were scum. Now granted, we were BOTH scum in that game, but you came after me hard and made up bullshit reasons to go after me just to bus me further. That wasn't work when I had to claim in that game either, that was an escape room. I was just scanned by a cop in that game. Of course i didnt have time to consult with my buddies or claim vanilla. I HAD to make a desperation move.

That shouldnt have any relevance to me this game since I am town this time, but you continue make up reasons that are untrue to shade me. Just like you did when you were scum. Finally i can say there is something scum kirby does that is different from his town self!

The laughable irony is that you might've gotten away that game if you had just claimed Vanilla instead of claiming Watcher with a scan that was impossible to be true. Saying "Any flavor scanners" does not mean that it HAS to be more than one or even that there has to be one at all. It is said intentionally vague so as to mean all of that. The way I see it, its like in my Xenoblade game where I had Moebius J that "If visited by any Bodygaurds" would strip that roles powers and make them vanilla. That was not saying that Hydraizer would have its role stripped because it fit into the category of "Any bodyguards".

If I had to guess right now who scum was

I'd take a stab and say HB/Kirby and if like 1 more someone like red

Frankly, I kind of agree. Sultan hasn't really felt on it this game. The thing is that I don't think SBell would defend him so hard early

Sbell may have been trying to look like Loud Wrong Town - which fits with the Lea kill

Clearly I havent had time. My brain is mush, and i feel like you are beating me into exhaustion. Even know I feel maybe I deserve to be suspected by you, because yeah my first post aged terribly and I have not lived up to that this game. From JC at least, I only got whether or not they are a star spirit. Nothing else about their flavor. I dont know what happens if i pick one if it activates or some shit, but that would be a hidden condition I dont know about if true

I would've scanned Ctes. He's the one player I haven't formulated any kind of opinion on and haven't interacted with much at all, and also someone that most of the game hasn't really interacted with. So he wouldn't have been attracting much attention, keeping my own identity hidden as well as his until it mattered the most, if it scan turned positive for Star Spirit.

I've been skimming back through the topics and I can't really get a good read on which way I should lean for today.

I wouldn't count on it but it wouldn't be the first time.

Also I think I may have been the first person to float the idea of activate star powers being a thing, I know I definitely suggested it.

That was in context of the burn conversation. But I think it is far more likely to just act like a poison and be cured by doctor.
