Counter argument - a scum player who is not as good as you might be looking for things to do to appear towny early in the game.

I don't believe that sultan fits this, but it's not an implausible explanation.

Also, for the rest of you - not to knock anything against Kirby and his effort, but let's please remember that there is nothing necessarily Town-proving about defending somebody whom everyone else is defending, nor spending time to explain the situation that occured.

If someone broke into the SBell/Han Convo in topic 1 and explained in clear terms what they saw was going on, then congrats, they can read. It doesn't make them Town.

Moreso Sultans already given answers and while they could be lies we dont know how to discern that yet.
Keep an eye on him sure, pressure him and watch him thats fair.
But this is not something I would take Sultan to the next stage for.

I know that feeling, (and trust me I have wanted to counter Hans post as well but held myself back)
But it robs HB of the chance to make a genuine response regardless.

I think it is important to remember the order of events here. The entire game didn't jump down your throat ready to defend Sultan.

Han called you out an hour ago for not liking your Sultan suspicions after you expressed frustration that Han was sussing you without a stated reason. Then you started talking about how Sultan got "directly caught in a contradiction." Then multiple people went to source that claim.

When town finds a claim that looks like it's based on misinformation, it's very easy to get caught up thinking it's a manufactured scum hunt.

Honestly, I was going back through the topic to defend Hb, not Sultan. I wanted to find the post that clearly showed Sultan was contradicting himself, thus validating Hb's argument. Because I legitimately thought y'all were unjust in calling him and his argument illogical.

And then I realized I was wholly mistaken, as Sultan never made a post like that. In actuality, the whole situation unfolded differently from how I remembered it. Then I realized that maybe Hb was also misremembering things, and that's why he was getting frustrated at everyone else not understanding his point of view.

It's my duty as a townie to present evidence to diffuse the situation so that we can move toward more productive conversation.

So I initially came into things thinking that Hbs logic on Sultan was technically plausible but he didnt really believe it and was just pushing it because in a scummy way.

At this point I think its pretty clear thats not the case given how emphatic hes been about this whole thing. Makes me feel a bit better because this doesnt give scum doubling down vibes. Seems more misguided town not understanding that we all agree the logic is plausible but disagree as to confidence.

Not going to fully park my suspicion but I actually do think Hb comes out of this whole better than where he started.

What is wrong with my argument on HB then? He is clearly not understanding me. I layed out several times on why I voted Kirby, fuck Kirby even layed out why I voted him and he refuses to see his flaws in his play. And im very confident in this how I even yell at him to try harder.

Okay I was gonna say something to the effect of 'thats not even an ironclad defense of someone having to be town'

But if I said that and Hb was scum, he might have had more confidence to 'null' Hans question than before. Though I cant say for sure if Peafs answer helped him either, but I wont hold that against Peaf.

I rarely see scum pulling the 'heheh, I am gonna answer first' card for an actual reason.

Meh. He only made one post, right? I didn't give it a second thought since it seemed like a very useless post. Maybe I'm thinking that because I didn't understand at all what he was trying to say about me in his post.

But Isquen gets himself lynched all the time. I feel like it's a trend that he never lives past Day 2 or 3 as either alignment lol So I'm waiting for Isquen to have a more active discussion, really.

This was the vibe that I got from him last topic and why I gave points. Didnt seem like him rushing to Sultans defense as much as watching a bunch of people try to make a point clear and failing, then actually doing a good job of explaining it.

To be fair I also do think Kirby himself confused HB's point

In other news, I'm still reasonably confident that Lea is scum. She hasn't built up a solid case on any of her reads, which was especially evident when ctes asked her to justify her vote on me based on how I've played in the past.

Her response? Literally just "I dunno". That's it.

And I don't think Town Lea is this lazy.

Was not confident about it at first Ctes pointed it out (Think this aids to plums argument on me) to which I said I was waiting for Isquen to come back which I brought it back up again and got into it with Isquen.
