A lot of things would make sense if that were the culmination to her story. Swung for the fences, then fell on her face. Again. That entire storyline is Funny115 material should it end this way.

Yeah, same here. If the jury votes for Heidi because of the fire-making, it will be one of the most unsatisfying, lame endings of all time.

I think - and hope - Carolyn has this.

Heidi was terrible at FTC, particularly "Vote for me so I can be the oldest woman to win!" That is so tacky and has nothing to do with how good of a game she played.

I hope I'm wrong, but that FTC really made me feel like Yam Yam is winning over Carolyn.

I definitely feel like Heidi is losing though. She gave big "politician with weak charisma" energy throughout that whole tribal council.

I did catch some great Carolyn moments and Heidi coming off reallyyyyy tryhard at times but I am definitely biased here. Yam Yam sounded good? I didn't catch any silver bullets, if there were any...

Oh yeah, I was just recently thinking about how there have literally been 2 LGBT winners out of 43 and that sucked. 3 out of 44 still sucks but at least it's happened again.

The fact that both Richard and Todd were presented as villains on the show probably didn't help. At least Yam-Yam was edited to be more actively lovable.

I didn't watch the After Show - did I miss anything other than Jaime learning that her idol was fake and the potential auction tease? (I hope that's because they read one of my numerous essays explaining that the reason the auction got gamed was because production was too predictable with it, and it was easy to fix)

EDIT: I don't think we'll be needing a new topic right now, since BB doesn't start until August for whatever reason. Am I right there?

season 44 had the best cast of the new era with the worst editing

there was just too much talking about how great people and their stories were without context. even carolyn (who had plenty of incredible moments) also had some insufferable infantilizing of her life and story in this finale. but lauren basically getting a dramatic sendoff of how great she was without the show having ever let us see that in the prior 12 episodes - was the worst. and that's not on her, of course, that's the show just never giving us literally anything from her after, like, the goddamn premiere.

anyway, yam yam deserved the win, good for him, but i wish it felt more satisfying for some reason i haven't quite figured out. editing and production will benefit from the 90 minutes but they're gonna need them put to better use than the 60 they've been working with.

  1. I don't hate Heidi; I hate her edit. That's why she's low on my list. Her story made no sense for a runner-up. Way to jump to conclusions, Naye. I agree that the editing this season was off, of course, and Heidi was a big part of that (mad respect to her for pulling off the Underwood Gambit successfully).
  2. Knew about Bruce (and thought I said that), but good to know that was in the trailer.
  3. I agree with Inviso's approximate placement of this season (the rest of the list is another story)
  4. Sia has a face? Though I am happy for Carolyn to get that award - she earned it.
