45. Bobo Bennetti

I certainly cant do justice to Bobo Bennetti in a write up.

Jailed for a crime he did commit, Bobo is a changed man, doing right where once he did wrong. Known for his distinct way of speaking and ability to take on the entire world on his own, if one guy would take on Darkseid single-handedly it would be him.

Bobo is the kind of character who is almost assuredly hurt by me not getting to experience him directly. I imagine he would have ranked a fair bit higher if I got to talk to the man himself. Still, he oozes personality, and the small bits Ive heard about have been a joy to read.

Oracle told Fields that the time was bad for her considering a relationship, which was just a clear rejection for him, so he decided to try to move on. Then Varra moved into the Gazette, and Fields and her had a flirtation. After Oracle met Varra, she got very jealous.

Fields and Oracle talked it out and Fields said Varra didn't matter to him like the way Barbara did - Varra was nothing. Scar asked for Persuasion or Bluff, with me being allowed to keep the choice hidden. And I rolled a nat 20, and that was the dice saying Sforzacle was meant to be (Sforz was Fields's hero name).

MI was left in lurch, not knowing if Fields was lying or telling the truth...

Don't worry Varra, I don't think you're nothing.

It was a moment that changed a lot in the course of the campaign, as the dice willed it. Han told me that if he failed the roll and Oracle kicked him out he would have went right to Varra's room for her. It's a good what if moment.

It's okay, I can't do Bobo Bennetti just and I have to voice him. He's the greatest, just the absolute best. It's Darkseid vs. Bobo at the end of the campaign, six-to-five and pick 'em who wins that fight.

Dang that is a cool/interesting situation. Gotta love secret rolls

45. Cheetah / Barbara Ann Minerva / Lioness

Cheetah is a cat lady with a ton of confidence, a reckless attitude, and and the ability to piss people off. Except for Snapper Carr who clearly liked her just fine >_>

Cheetah got injured rushing into danger without backup. Hooked up with Snapper in Atlanta after his powers acted up and he went MIA. Oh yeah, and she stole the Lion Spirit from Catman because she had lost her normal powers and wanted a new feline power boost. That one is the worst IMO given that Catman was being offered it from his deceased best lion friend Hector.

The most interesting thing to me is the dichotomy of Cheetah and Barbara Ann Minerva. Both versions got a ranking that basically treated them as separate characters, which I think shows just how different they are. Where Cheetah is uber confident and headstrong, Barbara is a coward and more of an intellectual. That difference between the powered and non-powered version is really interesting to me. It seems most the players would prefer she stay as Barbara but clearly Barbara herself disagrees, as she went to great lengths to get back her powers, and when that wasn't possible she grabbed the first alternative that presented itself. Must be hard to prefer the version of yourself that most people hate, though its hard to feel too sorry for her when she gives everyone plenty of good reasons to hate her.

44. M.O.R.F.I.U.S.

Feed him sand!

The saga of M.O.R.F.I.U.S. the phishing Tamagotchi is so good. It asks to be fed sand, Brennus insists it be fed sand, and Bloodfruit feeds it sand. I believe it was 100% confirmed to be a scam and nothing more, but I dont blame Bloodfruit for thinking it may actually be Dream, once again stuck in an unusual prison.

10/10 running gag. 10/10 Tamagotchi theming, I want one!

44. Fright

Fright was a villainess who somehow lost her got mindwiped to where she no longer had any emotions and barely spoke. She was brought back to ZZ and locked up in the cells. Bloodfruit was determined to help her so he used a special item on her to grant her a leadership skill in hopes of that sparking something in her.

It basically backfired and while her personality stayed the same other inmates were now drawn to follow her and started repeating her single line of dialogue (which I can no longer remember). But our PCs are not easily deterred when they are making things worse in attempts to help someone! So next he used some Star Sapphire magic to give Fright back at least one emotion, Love. So now Fright is in love with the concept of fear, and wants to make the entire world experience fear. So good job Bloodfruit, you've made Fright back into a supervillain. Oh and did I mention that Fright has the ability to make people scared by exhaling fear toxin or something like that? So yeah she is ready and able to make a whole lot of people scared if she ever gets out.

And I still think she should get a Yellow Lantern ring.

Maniac Hint #43: This character has slept with a PC

A yellow lantern has the ability to control great fear, and Fright has zero control of herself, let alone the fear of others. Strangely enough, she's antithetical to the Sinestro Corps! That would be the argument. Plus, Earth's Sinestro Corps member has already been chosen...

43. Dewormer

It was neck and neck, but Dewormer just edges out M.O.R.F.I.U.S. for me.

Dark comedy is great. And it doesnt get much darker than Dewormer the nihilistic robot. With a humble beginning of being designed to collect worms (I assume?), Dewormer was later tasked with collecting truffles in a minefield and traumatizing Brennus, and completed both tasks marvelously as far as Im aware. The cycle of being awoken, interacting with Brennus, and then forcing Brennus to kill him and start the cycle anew is comedy gold.

Dewormer was later part of the attack on Zonn Zorr, as an army of robots swarmed the base and was subsequently destroyed. These versions did not have his suicidal tendencies though, right? If thats the case, I feel extra bad for them.

How is Dewormer doing nowadays? Is he alive? Has he found a good therapist yet?

43. Snapper Carr

Snapper is the Justice League's mascot apparently. He has the incredibly useful ability to teleport himself and other people. This ability is really key for the party as it is there main means of getting to their mission locations. His skill is so important that when he disappeared once due to overuse of his power causing him to mess up, the 'heroes' had to go and kill poor Multi Man repeatedly until he gained teleportation powers.

Snapper is a wise cracking guy who often has funny jokes or comments when the party meets up with him for teleportation. Seems like just a very fun character to be around.

And of course there is also the fact that Snapper is currently dating Lush in a the healthiest toxic relationship ever. Snapper cheated on her with Cheetah when he thought he might be doomed (but hey, Lush has cheated with Saorise and herself so...). He also is still married to another woman because Snapper's way of ending relationships is just to teleport away and never talk to the person again, which also makes him an asshole. Everyone better hope he and Lush never break up or they are going to need to go find Multi Man again.

He technically hasn't done that to any of them! The first girlfriend he had thought he had died - and he was inadvertently teleported away at the time. A cat-lady *thought* they were dating when he lied to her captor to convince them to free her, saying as much. And then he forgot to file his divorce papers with his wife, when she was de-aged into a baby.

Some people just seem to have it out for an innocent man...

Brennus very recently completed a side quest to get Trogg and Veridium some polonium that they are planning to use to rebuild Dewormer without his nihilism. Time will tell how that will go.

Brennus and Zombie were a fun team!

42. Blackbriar Thorn

A giant and ancient tree man of incredible magical powers. Blackbriar Thorn is a powerful druid, something i have enjoyed stories of in the past, who has chosen one Soarise as his chosen one. Which sounds great but it turns out Blackbriar is the "deal with the devil" type who loves making deals that both help and hurt you. In exchange for power and a companion in Voldemort's wand given sentience and named Twiggy, Saorise just had to give up family and any hope of successful relationships. Honestly sounds like a real bad deal to me.

Blackbriar Thorn controls DC's version of the Celtic druidic realm Brucke Der Dunan which I am familiar with from the Iron Druid book series. Saorise has been chosen to be a princess there or something like that. Unfortunately when the party traveled there for an event Spectre showed up. Blackbriar proved how strong he is when he managed to actually put up a fight against the god of vengeance but ultimately he was killed. Or was he.

Apparently Blackbriar has a deal with the Morrigan because he keeps coming back from the dead, and sure enough it seems to be happening again, though slowly. When twiggy was broken Lush was able to use some magic to visit him and he offered her a deal of her own. She could free Saorise of her cursed fate, potentially opening up the door to a happy relationship ending for them or at least for her bff, but she would lose Twiggy forever, who has become her closest companion. Or he could heal Twiggy and lock Saorise into her fate once again. Lush was not allowed to check with Saorise and made the dark choice to heal their friend Twiggy at the cost of her bff's freedom, and Saorise would only know what happened if Lush told her afterwards. Lush chose to save Twiggy, and I don't think she has told Saorise about exactly what happened with BT. It was probably the right choice but it is still a fun dilemma that the tree druid created. He is a very interesting character who can be a great ally but at a cost.

Like Maniac, this is my favorite Brennus ship. I love that polaroid commission. Thats basically how he made my list, because I cant remember much else about him other than his relationship with Brennus. Im sure hes a good dude doing justice and such in Tokyo, but what makes Jiro for me is the history with Brennus, as well as the possible future.

Have there been any recent updates in Tokyo, anything significant since the dome went down?

I actually made up Brucke der Dunen - it means Bridge of Dunes. Bridge of Dunes... Brigadoon.

41. Parademon (KRay)

My first Secret Six member to drop, Parademon. Originally one of Darkseids many minions, a freak accident of sorts broke his connection to the horde and set him on the path to freedom. He later joined the Secret Six because they were not so six at that point. As far as I know, he has integrated well as a contributing member, and is Ragdolls new BFF.

I love KRays story, it is so interesting as part of the larger Darkseid invasion. Through pure chance he was the Parademon to be encountered and freed in that moment, otherwise he would have either been killed or remained part of the nameless mob of enemies. In addition to that, his liberation ended up providing a lot of information into how Darkseid operates. This isnt Darkseids first Earth invasion, and the Parademons are previous victims brainwashed into his service. Its very dark, but very fascinating for the lore and worldbuilding. I hope the worst of KRays troubles are behind him.
