I went to a day camp during summers when I was a child. We would go to the pool and the roller skating rink and other stuff.

I'm pretty sure I've only been once to a day camp, never to a sleepaway one. I just remember it being hot and humid with bugs everywhere and a lake we couldn't swim in. We made trail mix and that's about it.

Same here, I was just in a day camp.

Never, don't think its really a thing in the UK. Did go to a day camp on year though.

Day camp, 2 weeks in early summer of 1985. Lots of walking and swimming, went to a water park at the end of the first week, went to Lincoln Park Zoo at the end of the second week.

twice with boy scouts. Each for about ten days. The first one was a lot of fun, except the toilets were literally just holes in a shack, and snakes and wolf spiders were liable to bite your balls when you took a dump. So I only pooped once all week and that's when I snuck into the employee restroom by waiting behind the door until one left. The second one I hated the troop I was with so it was pretty lame.

The troop I was in first was way more about camping and activities. Then I moved and the troop i joined was religious and community service oriented.

I wish. I imagine it like salute your shorts. Went to a boy scouts day camp for a few weeks. It was fun with lots to do: swimming volley ball wood working arts and crafts archery bb guns watermelon seed spitting. Being a kid was so great. Don't get me wrong, adulthood has its perks too, but there's just something about a time that's nothing but potential.

No. I paid to go to weekend language (French) camp when I was in 6th grade though. But that was part of school, and optional. But it was great. Got full on bodied by a counselor and was mad in love with the administrator.

I went to a Christian day camp for a couple weeks during two or three summers as a kid.

Once, for about a week, to a day camp. It was basically 5 days where I'd get on a bus to go there in the morning and then come home late afternoon.

And I loathed it so much I never went back.

Did a day camp for one week as a kid. Hated it, never asked my parents to let me go again.

It was essentially just a cheep day care. Lots of kids who's parents where just looking for a place to dump them for the day.

Yes, for Boy Scouts. It was only a week, but it was fun.

Twice. Once with my youth group and once with my girlscout troup. It was fun.

I was 10 or 11 or so. It was a church camp thing. They called lunch supper which was bizarre. Other than that it was ok.

I went plenty of times with the Scouts, it was always fun

Yes - when I was a kid, I would spend a week each summer at an overnight camp. Had a blast there and wound up working there for a few years while I was going through university. The pay was shit, but it was easily the most fun job I've ever had.
