Do you prefer store bought pasta or home made?

I recently started making my own pasta and I like it better than store bought because it's fresh and I can make as much as I need and use it when I want.

I purchased a pasta machine for like $80 bucks. If you own a stand mixer, they have pasta attachment for making different types of pasta as well.

I heard making certain pasta takes a long time, and can be hard. Id rather just buy the pasta, and cook it at home instead

Homemade is delicious, but it's hard to beat the convenience factor of "open bag, stick in pot" that store bought stuff offers. Making it from scratch is easier than one might think, but it still takes enough time and effort that I reserve it for when I want to do something special/fancy.

Store-bought. Just too convenient and there are some that I find tasty.

For me, the actual pasta noodle is whatever, the store bought ones are totally fine. Its the store-bought sauces that really suck compared to the ones from eating out, even if its at a cheap place

Thats because the store bought ones are usually plain But the restaurant ones are usually more complex, I would think Like extra spices, or added ingredients

It is convinient that store bought noodles last for a couple years on the shelf (Technically they last forever, but they do get stale after a while). That means I can keep several boxes in the pantry and just pull one out whenever I want. Plus, since I stopped having eggs for breakfast it means I don't need to keep eggs in the house.

Store bought is super convenient. I can buy it and throw it in the cabinet and months later I can say, hey, I'd like pasta for dinner, and boom.

There's also that fresh store bought stuff. You have to keep it refrigerated, it only lasts for a couple months at most, and it costs a LOT more, but it tastes better. I sometimes eat the tortellini or ravioli raw, something you can't really do with the dry stuff.

The pasta itself doesn't matter to me too much, it's more about the sauces and spices used.

I don't think I've ever noticed enough of a difference between store-bought and homemade to actually justify the extra effort.

There are plenty of things that taste way better if you make it yourself rather than buying prepackaged versions at the store, but pasta really isn't one of them.
