One thing I do know about this game is that they force a ton of specific units on you for the final chapter.

The way my brain works I refuse to let any units that are forced on me not be viable, so while I don't want to be spoiled on units I don't have yet, I would appreciate knowing when I get units that will be forced or what units I already have that will be forced.

I know one of those units is Sothe, which is why I gave him Paragon for the last couple part 1 maps so any kills he got weren't going to waste due to his high level (and, like, barely any units could even fit Paragon anyways)

What this selling for raw material stuff they're talking about though? I rememeber they brought up it up in part 1 too but I never figured out what it was.

Of the ones you currently have used only Ike, Micaiah, and Sothe are. There are others but you don't get them until Part 4 iirc. Notably, Elincia is not forced despite kind of being the main lord of part 2.

I can guarantee I'll be using Elincia no matter what, lol.

I think you only get the Silver Card for that one chapter. My assumption is that FE10's programmers didn't like the idea but didn't want to leave it out entirely.

I belive it's a JP-only mechanic that was cut from the US version. Something like "selling weapons gives you forge points, forging weapons takes them away" which presumably scaled with rarity in both cases.

There's actually a lot of things that were changed between Japanese and International RD versions. IIRC you couldn't promote by just leveling in the Japanese version and had to use Master Seals, for one.

Shinon I give you a lot of shit, but you pulled aggro on that wyvern boss for 4 turns straight while everyone else cleaned up the rest of the map. I was even able to leave Mist out in the open in his range without worry.

Yeah, our Radiant Dawn is basically a 2.0 version if the game, except for the difficulty name debacle. RD is much more highly regarded in the west than the east as a result.

Honestly there's a lot I hope they change if RD ever gets a remake despite it being one of my favorite games.

Like half the cast is just bad. I don't mind some bad units, but there's straight up like 20 of them that are totally worthless. They need to up their growths or bases some. Leonardo is just a slightly better Ronan from Thracia with his stats.

Also the hardest difficulty (Hard mode for us) should not have removed the weapon triangle and BEING ABLE TO CHECK ENEMY RANGES. Like why??? That's not difficulty, that's literally just being annoying.

Shinon is kinda great in FE10 (for bow infantry) and Provoke is a big part of that, yeah

I'm assuming it's still best to Master Seal Mist? I won't be using Rhys, so no competition there. I HAVE already gotten her to level 11 just from letting her get a kill almost every turn.

Mist doesn't promote with Master Crown in this game, she promotes with a unique item called the Holy Crown. She can still promote normally by leveling, as well.

Presumably it was to stop exactly what you're trying to do for balancing reasons lol

It was probably for plot reasons, since she's Ike's sister, but not important enough to get a story promotion. So they gave her a unique item. I doubt it was for balance since she has the same problem here where she wants a magic sword, except there aren't any in this game.

It's more about giving you a mounted healer too early in Ike's chapters, I think.

Eh, with the ledges in some of those chapters, I'm not even sure it is an advantage.

Yeah there aren't any magic weapons in RD (don't believe the Florete's description it lies).

Sadly, I don't think Ike's games are held in high esteem by Japan or Intelligent Systems. They sold bad and RD specifically had a lot of issues in the OG version. The fact that we've never seen Path of Radiance or Radiant Dawn on any eshop is pretty telling - I wouldn't hold your breath on a remake or even a rerelease.

I mean I think it would probably be 10+ years in the future anyway. The next up for a remake is almost certainly 4, maybe 5, and I think 6 would likely get a remake before anything past it as well.

Tellius is fortunate to have Ike and for FEH to exist so Tellius fans can show their support for the games. It wouldn't surprise me if Intelligent Systems has come around a lot on those games in recent years and is willing to give them another chance. The bigger issue is FE4 to FE8 are ahead of the Tellius games in line for a remake.

imo Radiant Dawn, while not perfect, really sells the feeling of conflicting sides better than any other game I've played. There's nothing quite like repeatedly switching between playing as and playing against your lovingly-raised units.

Units that die as an enemy don't die for real, so feel free to take out your anger with the Dawn Brigade on them.

This map has a bunch of really cool in battle and out of battle conversations. Also a lot of unique AI behavior to go with how many of the characters know each other. If you get a chance, trying attacking the Black Knight with Ike.

I gave her Paragon and she got to level 11 in the last chapter. She's their ringer, their ace!

Besides Haar is an unkillable God, he's good enough for now.

Jill on the Greil Mercenaries is just another really strong unit. Jill on the Dawn Brigade is the one who carries them. It's a no brainer to leave her there.

I feel like I'm treat Bexp like the people who end RPGs with 99 elixers in their inventory. Are there going to be any forced characters who need a LOT of Bexp?

The disparity in these units is EXTEME so I better not have to keep them alive. I gave Astrid's Paragon to Marcia and got her all the way to level 2 of her last promotion in that last map alone.

Haar, and dragon knights in general, are absurdly good in FE10. I'm not sure how much the FE10 speedrunning strategy has changed over the years but I know it used to be largely a Haar solo run.

Good old Radiant Dawn, where you have game balance by having the power scale be Dawn Brigade on one side and half of the Greil Mercenaries on the other.

I'd consider the Crimea Knights but they have to be available for that.
