I was also in the "didn't think about it" crew. In hindsight it's fairly obvious (especially when the game data spoils it) but it never even crossed my mind that the Black Knight had a secret identity at all lmao

Yeah that kinda ruined the surprise for me back in the day. Thankfully it's not a huge deal even if you're spoiled.

To give details: in PoR, Zelgius' internal character data (that is never seen in-game) has identical stats to BK.

Also, didn't you play Fire Emblem Heroes? Because that does not give a fuck about spoiling old games, with Zelgius being probably the most egregious example

Via the Paragon skill and 2 energy drops, got Sanaki to level 9, with 10 strength on that map, 3 stats capped to make Bexp more viable.

Oh speaking of Sanaki, the total list of forced characters for endgame is Ike, Micaiah, Sothe, Sanaki, Kurthnaga, and Ena. Plus any one of the herons.

If there's a Laguz you plan on using it seems dumb to have anyone but them kill the boss on a map, from what I can tell. There appears to be little to no experience penalty for them when they do.

iirc Laguz are always treated as tier 2 units while transformed and tier 1 units while untransformed so killing endgame enemies always gives them lots of experience

I could be making that up though.

Janaff was getting like 5 exp a kill 2 maps ago on units that level 10ish tier 3 Soren was getting over 30exp on, so it's definitely not that clean lol.

However I think untransformed they get tier 1 exp if they kill on a counter? Untransformed killed on a counter once and got like 60+ exp. Even being attacked while untransformed seems to give a ton, much more than getting a kill while transformed.

I don't think I've deployed more than half the max units for any of these groups lol

Make sure you keep an eye on her skills.

Mercy absolutely sucks when they spring it on you with no warning.

She ended up at 19, and never got less than 3 stat points so exp that would have been better as Bexp.

And Amiti IS infinite durability in fact.

Oh don't worry I took that shit off to give her Paragon, thank God I planned that out lol.

I stripped all the skills off of every unit I'm not using and sent them to the convoy, gonna be a fun hour of messing around once these armies merge.

Don't think Sanaki can fit both Paragon and the weapon exp skill unfortunately once I`m back to her unfortunately. Maybe I can give her Adept? This unit was definitely supposed to be trash with her strength making her tomes MOLASSES, but they UNDERESTIMATED ME.

Almost made it a whole game without a desert chapter.

Really sucks that Pelleas is NG+ only it seems.

Oh, and it looks like I got Adept and Discipline's costs backwards. Less utility for this chapter but at least she'll cap her weapon levels.

This is the most depressing one of them all.

Just as a heads-up: part way through the endgame chapters, Yune will bless all of your units equipped weapons. This only affects what you are actively using in your actual "Equipped" slot and only weapons. As in, not staves. You get a chance to shuffle things around before it happens.

My first time through I didn't 100% grasp what was happening and thought she was talking about every weapon I had and had a few dumb weapons get blessed, and I'm definitely not the only one that has done something like that, so I figured I'd give the heads up.

Yeah you get a battle prep screen after they discuss it.

OK, so I know I'll be picking units at some point after the prep screen. If I take off all my items and skills BEFORE picking those units, will I still be able to go into their inventory after? It's just a big pain trying to do all this management with like 60+ characters in the menu.

You can't access the inventories of the characters you don't bring to the tower. IIRC, the last chance to take anything off is when you get to pick the units you're bringing to the tower. On the bright side, your convoy now holds 300 items since the armies merged.

Ah, so as long as I unequip it all to the convoy I'll have access, good.

Yeah, one Laguz can use it once a chapter and be good for the rest of the game. That's why Giffca gets lumped in with the rest of the royals despite not having Formshift.

Giffca is rad but things are too tight for two lions.

It's not letting me change my skills during this first stage, hopefully that changes.

RD is really really good about custom conversations in general. There's a somewhat heartbreaking one if Elincia dies to the Begnion senators.

This is true! Makes lack of supports somewhat okay. Oh I've never gotten that one and Serenes might not have it? How's it go?

I can't find it either, but essentially the Begnion senator gloats about finally killing her. One of the notable units in your party (think it was a Laguz royal) gets pissed and vows vengeance, saying they won't let Begnion take anything more from the future.
