I just started the game so I know little about it. I just wanted to say that during windy weather I saw an Igglybuff get yeeted away. Hilarious, but at the same time that poor thing!

lol I actually had to grind
My grasscat2 couldn't handle Mela so I had to catch a Marill and evolve it
Also that Minecraft rock Pokemon thing helped a lot

I feel like I realize why I don't give a shit about cities in this game

No buildings to enter besides boring shops, yes, but also because it doesn't feel like NPC actually talks to you. They either talk to themselves or to their friend. Rare are the NPC that actually talks to you.
And even then I feel like they no longer give items like they did in previous games (besides those League reps)

Having said that, there is actually a nice NPC in Levincia
She trades you a Haunter. But unlike "FUCK Mindy", it doesn't hold a Everstone! I wish the NPC referenced it, but she didn't. Something like "I could have let it hold a Everstone and it would prevent it from evolving! but it would be cruel, wouldn't it? ha ha!" would have been priceless

Is there any way to browse the Pokedex faster...?
It's already slow enough and I have only seen 135 species

I've put about 5 hours in it now

I'm honestly shocked how poor the performance is right from the very start, and I'm really feeling the lack of voice acting. I feel like I have other little nitpicks that I'm not remembering in the moment.

Despite all of that....I'm still having quite fun with the game. The core game itself is still very entertaining to me, and the slight changes with sending the pokemon out on its own and such actually go a long way. It's fascinating how a game that is objectively this poorly built/optimized is still a positive experience so far.

An actually helpful post for anyone having performance issues: Restart the game every couple hours. It looks like a memory issue.

Just got to Mesagozo or whatever its called and the NPCs are moving at like 10fps if Im not close enough to hug them. Also whats this ice cream stuff do? I have no clue what the hell Humungo Power and these other things do

Like there'll be a Pokeball just sitting in the middle of the floor or ground and I'm like... why is this here?

Well I had a trainer near me during a wild battle, and while the trainer disappeared, the Poke Ball they were holding was still bobbing up and down.

This city with the school looked pretty magical from a distance, but the contents of the city are pretty sad. It still looks nice other than the frame drops of people walking, but theres nothing actually in it other than the same shops everywhere. It doesnt even seem like you can sit on any of these park benches or anything either.

Yeah... getting to the city for the first time and then going into shop after shop and it being the same damn food like 10 times in a row.

Not being able to customize your outfit still pisses me off so much.

No, I want to make my character look different from literally every other school child in this game. Oh, I can't? I guess that's cus we need the attention drawn to the overly designed NPCs instead and make me look like regular dude for the whole game.

If you press one of the d-pads you have 3 other options corresponding for the seasons.

And that's it. Nothing else, ever.

I quit playing BD after marathoning it for a full day when I got to the first city with clothes, and was informed you could never change your hair.

Trainer customization is far more important than all that whatever pokemon bullshit TBQH.

Took a detour on the way to the first gym, went through a tunnel, down a slope, and found a Finizen. <3

I'm sure a lot of people are gonna get a kick out of that.

Controls froze trying to talk to an NPC near a Pelipper. Had to close and reload the game. At least autosave seems frequent.

Okay so apparently the Elite 4 music can bug out and you'll only get the first 4 seconds playing on loop over and over.

Like fuck the fuck off, gamefreak. Seriously. This is supposed to be an epic moment when you are fighting the strongest trainers in the region and the music fucking bugs so it's just the same thing on repeat throughout the whole battle.

What a fucking fuck fest of a joke.

its pretty wild how often the camera clips through the ground when starting a fight

like this game is Bethesda-level janky, but without the level of complexity to sort of excuse it
