Given the type of games I usually play, if I was strictly a console person, I would still be playing my PS3. The fact that I can play Doom in either DosBox, GZDoom, Chocolate, or the 25th aneversary edition on Steam with just the press of a button means more then what I payed for it vs. a PS5/Xbox One. My next "PC" will probably be a Steam Deck anyways. My last GPU upgrade was in 2015 and prices were still totally normal at that point. Crypto and the Covid-induced semiconductor shortage have really only been influencing GPU prices to the point that building a gaming PC isn't unquestionably the better value for the last 3-4 years. --- This is my signature. I'm getting a "two many USB devices connected" despite only having my charging cable connected. My frame rate is going down, and the PS5 will eventually just stop working. I've gone through 3 PS4 controllers, and I've played my PS4 only a small fraction of the time I've played my Switch, which I've never broken a controller for. Even my old N64 controllers still all work. It would seem to me that you were either just unlucky or there's something wrong with the way you are using your console. Are you modding it? Is it kept in a poorly ventilated or hot area?
