I'd like to believe him about his sobriety and not judge a book by its cover, but he was looking pretty bad there. Childhood stardom is among the worst things a kid could have to deal with growing up, and his manager was accused of extra heinous stuff by other clients (dude probably diddled little boys, including Aaron). He had drug problems pretty much his entire life, and boy did he have bad relationships. One girlfriend threatened to kill him, another was arrested for domestic violence against him. By the end he was trying to make rent by way of OnlyFans. Basically his life is the kind of thing you'd wish on your worst enemy.
