But really, you were having a non-urgent conversation and could have taken a minute to potentially help someone who needed it. You're not obligated to obviously, but as a decent human being you probably should have.

I'd say it's more likely she was just a woman who probably isn't well off and wasn't expecting some pompous asshole to snap at her for asking if she could ask a question and knee jerk responded with "Are you crazy?" because nobody would reasonably expect that response.
