I got asked for money while sitting down in a restaurant, a couple of months ago. They came up to where my family was sitting, and asked us straight up for "spare some change", before being chased out by the workers there.

My day sucked and was long so i would have continued cussing at her if she had not walked away. I was about to cuss more but once she turned to walk away i immediately dropped it and went back to the phone call.

Usually if someone is interrupting you while youre on a phone call, its important so you should have at least got the gist of what she was trying to tell you. You can decide if you want to return to the call after you at least know what is happening. Maybe you were blocking the way for her cart of products or something

TC didnt and cannot give the proper context to this since he was absorbed in the phone call and didnt bother to figure out what was happening so we cant say with certainty if she was in the wrong or not. She shouldnt have resorted to swears and insults like a stereotypical CEman though

I mean, picture yourself in this scenario.

You politely approach someone and say "Can I ask you something" and they turn to you and say, probably quite rudely if his attitude in this topic is any indication, "No, go away" like you're a speck of dirt.

Is her knee-jerk reaction of "Are you crazy?" really that strange? TC was openly rude first. Why is she the problem for responding rudely?

It's hardly being treated like dirt when a complete stranger in the middle of a phone call tells you to go away. It's basically the expectation. You don't know him, he doesn't know you, he's clearly on the phone...leave him alone, why on God's green Earth would you think it's an appropriate time to ask somebody a question? You're in the middle of a store, you can just find somebody else who doesn't look occupied already.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with dismissing someone when you're already in the middle of a conversation. Expecting a polite response when you're interrupting someone's conversation is the unreasonable thing, here.

Obviously, her follow-up of "Are you crazy" is suspect, too. Most people would just accept that they've made a social faux pas and step off, continuing their day...but no, she continued the interruption after being told to fuck off.

You are not entitled to another person's attention at any time. Do not be offended if a random stranger has absolutely no interest in dealing with you. This rule applies at all times but applies with double strength when said person is already on the phone or talking to somebody else.

It's common courtesy to leave people alone when they're on the phone.

It literally does not matter what she wanted to ask. You always have a right to tell somebody to go away, and you should never expect a stranger to stop what they're doing and pay attention to you.

If i was asking random girls out and they told me "No go away" it would be hilarious and ridiculous to retort with "Are you insane!?"

She probably didnt ask anyone else on the phone whatever the hell she was asking.

I ran by walmart (8pm after work) to grab a certain pizza and burgers but they were out so i called my wife to figure out something else to get.

While on the phone a girl approached who seemed like a beggar and interrupted my call saying: "Can i ask you something?"

I said: "No, go away"
She says: "Are you crazy!?"
I say: "Fuck you!"
She says "Fuck you!"
And walks away.

I explained what happened to my wife and decide on another pizza and burgers to get.

You could've spent 30 seconds listening to them then politely tell them you can't help them or, at the very least, tell them you can help them once you finish your phone call.

They aren't entitled to a polite response after TC asserted himself. Don't approach random people.

If you're approaching strangers, expect to be treated like dirt. Strangers do not owe you a thing, which includes their time, attention, and/or courtesy.

We all interact with strangers literally everyday out of necessity. Unless youre a recluse and never leave your house.

Honestly, based on some of the responses in this topic...you can kinda tell who has the luxury of living in an area without many beggars and con artists.
