What is Game of the Month Club Replay?
Game of the Month Replay is a community project based upon the Game of the Month Club. Much like the GOTM Club, it's open to all B8ers where users share, discover, play and/or discuss a bonus chosen game every month. The game featured each month is chosen by YOU the users (and Lady Luck).

The only catch is, it must be a game that the GOTM Club has already played, so it's an opportunity to replay games you may have missed out on the first time or just want to try again.

The Basics
- Each month will usually feature one game that was chosen via a random drawing from a pool of games that users nominated
- For beating the game, you get a cool point on our just-for-fun standings as well as a nomination for next month's randomized drawing
- In order to receive the point and nomination, you must beat said game within the calendar month
- If you beat the current month's game in the previous month, you can apply for a "recently beaten waiver," but you will only receive a point and no nomination should you do so
- Drawing for next month's game is usually on the 25th
- If you periodically keep us posted on your progress and/or talk about different aspects of the games, then everyone will think you are super awesome!

Nomination Rules
- You get one nomination automatically each month
- You receive additional nominations each month for beating the featured game
- Each game you nominate has to be one that was already nominated for the GOTM Club.
- You can nominate games that have already been selected for the Replay Topic, but not the same game twice in a row.
- Each game must be a standalone game that can be acquired and played on its own (aka cannot be DLC/expansion that requires the base game)
- Nominations only carry over if you beat a featured game after the drawing for next month's game but before the end of the month

I just played that for the first time a few months back. Sometimes annoying but generally still a lot of stupid fun.

New Colossus is still on the backlog

I was the sole person who played and beat it five or six years ago, but I want to return to it and subsequently play the side game and sequel

I'm going to try to play Portal 2, but may not end up having enough time.

It's one of my favorite games though, so hopefully can make time for it.

Portal 2 beated!

I maintain the controversial opinion that while Portal 2 is a great game, it's not as good as the original. Sure, the sequel is bigger and longer, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's better. Portal is nearly a perfect game because it's short and sweet; it does what it needs to do and accomplishes that in one sitting. Portal 2 adds more mechanics and expands both the testing chambers and the "escape beyond the testing chamber" sequences but in some respects it's just "more".

I was going to nominate Half Life 2 and Antichamber but apparently neither of those has been a Game of the Month!?!

BAH!

Lets go with The Last of Us and Return of the Obra Dinn. Two games I haven't played before.

Portal 2 beated (~2 weeks ago, can we count this?)

Portal 1+2 are arguably the best 1-2 punch in a game series of all time -- especially if you're looking at just the first two games in a game series.

And Portal 2 is the better one

I used to think they were on equal ground, but I'm comfortable giving 2 the edge now. I have some critiques about the find-tue-white-wall structure to some end-gsme puzzles, but

1) ...it's been over a decade and there's not another environment that feels as alive as Portal 2's It's still incredible what they did with it.

2) Besides the credits, Portal 2'# soundtrack runs wild on Portal 1's. Not only is the soundtrack excellent on its own and in-game, but the sound design was a work of art. I still admire how they handled the triple-laser puzzle's music and like that there's a hidden radio with its own whole song.

3) Lasers > energy balls.

I need to get back on the two-player mode sometime. It's as admirable of a sequel to a tough-to-follow game like Portal 1 that one could ask for.

it has, which I chalk up to lower participation meaning I simply had a greater percentage chance.

I think of this as secondary to the regular GotM. You could up it to 2 games, though that means itd be a total of 5 between the two which is a lot of a month. Then again, most people (myself included) dont do every game in a month

I dont know, maybe just limit the number of times someone can have their game selected either to a per year max or not allow multiple months in a row.

To be fair, I nominated Obra Dinn previously, so you can consider this a belated half-selection of mine if that helps.

I don't personally think that there needs to be a user selection limit. This is just how things go sometimes.

I never follow or involve myself in these topics but just wanted to say I got my best friend to finally play portal 2 coop with me after not playing it since release (and him not playing portal ever) and that game still fucking rocks.

Most fun I've had in awhile. He can't stop talking about it.
