Arguments for Ramza:

• he has a myriad of spells at his disposal, including a version of Ultima
• he is a brilliant tactician capable of outwitting many foes
• he has honor and is willing to fight for more than a little money

Arguments for DK:

• between the two, he's more willing to fight dirty
• I'm sure there's some BS Jungle Beat feat that gives him elemental immunity
• if DK shoots Ramza, it's gonna hurt

Yesterday the Kong/Moon off started out close, but DK ran away with the fight, doing what Link couldn't do and putting the moon in its place - in orbit. (DK vs. Link at some point?) Today it occurred to me that we've only pitted DK against one Final Fantasy character so far (hi Sabin), so why not do it again with our old noblefriend Ramza? Can Ramza use superior tactical mastery to win the fight? Or will he have to blame himself or Kong?

If Ramza throws stone and misses and smashes a banana with the stone DK may have a chance

What's DK's C.Ev and would Ramza throw it at his face, these are the important questions in this matchup.

Ramza's maximum power is completely broken.

The problem with saying "Ramza" is that, depending on your build, Ramza can literally do about anything. I write all the following with the caveat that I haven't played FFT in ages and didn't really know all the skills to begin with, so this is going to be heavily incomplete. I'm just looking at a list of the jobs.

Squire Ramza - would lose; throw stone and accumulate aren't enough
Knight Ramza - would lose; DK has no armor or weapon to break
Archer Ramza - would lose; DK would close the gap while he's charging
Monk Ramza - would have a chance. Monk has some serious cheese.
Thief Ramza - would lose. Especially after stealing DK's bananas.
Ninja Ramza - would throw something at DK that likely wouldn't kill him, but IIRC ninja throwables have status effects, so maybe?
Geomancer Ramza - has some cheese potential depending on the terrain, but I'm reasonably confident would lose short of DK standing in vines, out of line of sight.
Lancer Ramza - would lose. He can disappear for periods, but 1v1, Lancers don't have that much of an advantage. It's not like DK would never get to attack. It would just happen on a delay, and DK would wind up his punch in the meanwhile.
White Mage Ramza - would lose, after a painfully long period of time.
Chemist Ramza - would probably lose, after using 99 X-Potions and failing to stay at musket range.
Black Mage Ramza - probably does not have the firepower to one- or two-shot DK, and has virtually no survivability.
Oracle Ramza - could disable DK, turn him into a zombie, and hit him with a phoenix down.
Time Mage Ramza - would win. While offense would be a concern, enough buffs and debuffs would inhibit DK from getting damage in.
Summoner Ramza - would probably win. There are some really strong summons that deal damage and status effects. Needs to not run out of MP before DK goes down, though.
Mediator Ramza - would lose. He could charm DK, but to what end?
Bard Ramza - would lose, unless he finds the time to buff himself into the stratosphere. I'd give better odds to Dancer, but Ramza's a dude.
Calculator Ramza - DK has defeated the power of math in the past, such as when he was able to complete DKC1 with 101%.

I think there are picks you could make for secondary skill sets and passives that would give Ramza the upper hand (see Oracle), but the thread is called "could DK" win, and the answer is yes. He absolutely can.

Ramza at the peak of his power could have access to teleportation, math skill (the ability to instantly cast spells like flare, holy or ultima from any distance at no cost,) dual wielded knight swords that give him permanent haste and protect, and the ability to block all physical attacks and follow up with a counter all in one fight, among many other broken builds that DK has no way to deal with.

The module nature of Ramza makes this an unfair fight.

I feel this is like asking could the main character of Skyrim defeat DK

You all seem to be forgetting. If DK shoots Ramza. It's gonna hurt.
