Ive seen some grumbling that Move Me isnt a very exciting retiree. Not only that its boring. I couldnt disagree more. To me, Move Me is constantly engaging, shifting between musical ideas rapidly. It never stays put for too long; one might say its always got its foot on the gas. You could argue that lots of stuff doesnt necessarily equate to constantly engaging, and youd be right, but for me at least, Move Me hits that sweet spot. Its got dnb energy for days, and while it doesnt have a strong melody, Im not somebody that needs melody to enjoy a song: it offers plenty more to me. My favorite part is at 4:00, when the song coalesces into rapid effects that hearken to a car skidding around a corner. I really love the R4 soundtrack as a whole, so Im particularly pleased that Move Me has done so well. Now lets get in Movin' in Circles next year!

Ah yes, SWORDFISH SOIREE, one of my few remaining genres. Aquatic Ambiance is a classic. Its so evocative and lush, perfectly conveying a sense of wonder, mystery, and exploration to rival Bracket As forest finalists. David Wise is perhaps best when hes angling for an ambient soundscape; few of his compositions can match Aquatic Ambiance in this regard. Theres so much to sink your musical teeth into: the piano, the synths, those little bubbly glockenspiel notes that pop up throughout. Its truly impressive. I would say that among the original Donkey Kong Country soundtrack, there are other songs I like more, including its two retirees (Fear Factory and Gangplank Galleon). But Aquatic Ambiance is still great. As I said about Secret of the Forest, Im always happy to see more retro retirees, particularly from the SNES. Wise is one of my favorite composers and Im happy to celebrate his work like this.

I think with the amount Move Me has been drilled into my head in this contest, I think I appreciate it a lot more for what it does, but I still find it too repetitive to really enjoy it personally. Aquatic Ambiance is significantly more interesting to me.
