Hunting is literally the most ethical and morally sound way of acquiring meat tbh.

That said I got one deer once,felt super bad, and haven't killed anything besides some grouse in years and years. Not even a grouse for years now honestly.

There's a good chance it'll lead to certain other deal-breaking revelations, but it's at least worth inquired further. I grew up in rural Ohio; my dad and his friends all loved deer hunting, and I recognize the value of deer meat + necessity for regulated population control (boy do I not miss having to constantly worry about hitting deer while driving).

Here is the thing.

someone who doesnt see poop ever will get super grossed out at poop. Someone who sees poop on the daily will barf in his or her mouth a little from being around copious amounts of poop.

someone who never sees any blood will maybe get light headed or alarmed when seeing a shitload of blood next to him/her, while someone who sees that everyday wont.

its a process called desensitizing.

what happens when someone is so used to grabbing a gun, firing it, and taking the life of a furry, cute looking animal, and then seeing it a lot of its blood and its limp, lifeless corpse and maybe even doing one of those hunter poses that make fun of the fallen animal? Desensitizing.

i am not sure Id want to be around someone who is so nonchalant about taking lives and making furry creatures bleed, after all people are less cute and way more threatening, there is no telling how theyd think inside their heads about someone who annoys them.

if she just shot 2 buck and wont do it again then it would not bother me

I dated a girl for a while, probably about 6 months into the relationship brought up how she hunted a bear once, had a picture and everything. She waited a while to ever bring it up so I think she knew that it was problematic, but still seemed pretty proud of it when she did talk about it.

We ended up dating for about year after, ultimately broke up for unrelated reasons, but that always rubbed me the wrong way. Hunting for meat is one thing, but I doubt you're out here eating bear.

Don't remember if she at least used its fur or something, but if not then man, still kinda rubs me wrong.

Tell her I worked at a deer check station (wheigh deer and list rifle type) in PA for the Forest Service. 30 Aught Eight seemed the popular model, which I think is 3008 model.

Deer were overpopulated in PA (dur to lack of predators ) and would eat everything in sight, meaning plants could never take hold enough to grow up.

There were sections of the forest fenced off from deer, and it was a night and day difference for plant biodiversity.
