Of note is that this game never goes on sale on PSN for some reason. I have it on my wishlist just to track to I can make a topic if it does, but not once in the last 8 months plus has it shown up with a markdown. Perpetually $40.

Yeah I actually ended up buying a physical copy of the PS4 version because I refuse to spend more than $20 on anything digital.

You'd expect it to show up in Big in Japan, but nope, never!

A Requiem for Innocence ($7.50, $50% off $15)
Reincarnation (not on steam)
Other additional short stories (???)

Requiem compiles all the DLC.

It's been $28 on eShop before, never on sale on PSN though

How necessary is the DLC?

It's not necessary for the main campaign but it's very good. If for any reason you didn't want to play it or wanted to wait, it would have no negative impact on the main release.

Great story. A tale unlike any you would have heard before but my god is it overrated to the skies by its fanbase.

I mean it's a VN. If you like a story more than any other story than it's gonna be your favorite story, it's completely subjective. It's not like there's gameplay mechanics to discuss.

Even in terms of VNs, the pacing is a bit all over the place despite being shorter than your average VNs. Like what the fuck is even the point of Door 4? Even Doors 1, 2 and 3 had no business being that long. The real story only really begins with the 5th door.
